The fundamental truth is that the R’s sound crap whatever system you have …. Even the mighty akro ( to my ears anyway ) sounds like a angry wasp that needs start lifting some weights … id probably still have an akro though … just for scene points 😬😂

I expect many in warranty won’t touch their car’s especially if you’ve ordered a high spec 8R close to £50k. They are nice car stock but I suppose you could just get away with just the software, Intake ,DP ( FMIC optional but advisable if on track) and maybe a decent set of front pads. Basic stage 2 costing approx £2600-£2800 plus labour depending on make of hardware etc. Pads and plugs would be extra and I expect plugs will be mandatory at stage 2.

The brand new Powervalve REV III centre delete goes a long way to improving the stock note... ...the new design allows the flaps to be coded open full time whilst still removing all the drone associated with this mod 😉 Cheers Nige BCS Powervalve

I suspect that in 20 years time IF R's become collectable then condition & provenance will affect prices more than options & spec, with some exceptions (eg 3 doors, manuals, truly rare colours). Often sellers try to increase the price of a car by claiming rarity for a particular combination of options/spec, but you need at least one buyer to agree before it means anything.

Probably because all the mechanics take turns taking it out for a "test drive"😁

Mine was doing this as my battery started to fail, I know a few others who had the same thing. Battery changed, no problems since.

first thing to check after that would be your battery.

No worse than my Audi S1. Ordered on day of release (Mother’s Day 2014) it left the factory got as far as the port and actually got sent back to the factory for a recall. Took a good few months to get it. (The recall was to put extra heat shielding in engine bay as TopGear managed to set their press car on fire….).
