Yes it was an R...... https://www.itv.com/news/2018-11-10/one-year-old-among-four-killed-in-sheffield-crash-after-police-chase/

Everyone makes mistakes and accidents happen but six things really annoy me: 1) Driving too close to the car in front. Regardless of what you or the other driver is doing KEEP YOUR DISTANCE! Even if your going to overtake there is no need to be within 1 car length of the car in front regardless of speed or what you think your skill level is! 2) Drivers who do 40 in a 60. Then enter a 30 and speed up to 45 and then go back into a 60 and revert to 40. It's 30 for a reason and try and keep to the suggested road speed at least. 3) 20mph zones are 20 for a reason. Ripping past my house at 35 during primary school time is slack and a stinger should be deployed on you. 4) Drivers on mobile phones. 5) Bad parking. Much money is spent on white lines. Try and park within them. They are for everyone's benefit after all. 6) The driver who followed me this morning doing number (1), overtook me then did number (2), followed by number (3) past a school whilst doing number (4) and when I pulled into Tesco was confronted by the same bloody car doing number (5). Shame on you.

Hi All, I still visit every now and then since moving on from the R! I just thought I would reply to try and assist all you Golf R keyless owners. There seems to be A LOT of relay theft going around at the moment across multiple brands. Local to me this week a VW Golf, Focus ST and Range Rover have all been nicked without the keys. Example: https://youtu.be/8pffcngJJq0 Not promoting a product but these work a treat. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Blocker-Blocking-Protector-Antitheft-Devices/dp/B078SRHNFS/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1523957388&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=rfid+car+key+protector&psc=1 With the key in the wallet the car wont open. If your in the car and put the key in the wallet then it says key not detected and wont start. The two pack is useful as I have one with the spare key in and one for the main key. £10 for a two pack. Cheaper ones do exist but for £10 it must be the cheapest method of protecting a keyless car from a relay theft. You could even get your friendly admin to logo some up and drop them on the store maybe.... hehe... !! I think anyone with a keyless car should invest in them. HTH keep your R's safe and overtaking me at every opportunity.

Thank you for deleting my posts.

Loving it! And no reliability issues regardless of what the Grand Tour might suggest. LOL A mixed reaction from other road users. From thumbs up, windows down wanting a rev and some noise to certain drivers of a certain manufacturers adamant they are going to overtake you including undertaking at speed and cutting in front of you in traffic and then when you pull up alongside them they wont look at you. Some folk are odd. The weird thing is if that happened in the R I would be annoyed and angry but in the Jag, well, it's more of a relaxed affair/approach.

They do sound good And nice to be able to switch the active exhaust off on long journeys. The windscreen is easier to see out of than say a mini for example. Obviously not the best. Probably depends on seat position and size of person.

Doesn't really "compare", its a different kettle of fish if that makes sense. Up to about 50ish I'd say a standard Golf R would be quicker, certainly in the winter months but kind of 60-70+ it really starts to sing. It really suffers from cold tyres and in dynamic mode on cold tyres in the wet/cold will happy wheel spin in 5th even with AWD. I love it! Only negative comments are it's a b1tch to park even with sensors and camera (parking is not my strongest skill) and when the rear spoiler rises everyone knows you are speeding and you can't see anything out of the rear window! ...... and fuel consumption is eh.... not good on shorter trips... single digits are common... the lowest recorded being a spirited 5.8mpg. Although on long runs I have nearly broken into 40mpg due to the 8th gear being especially long (50mph is minimum for 8th at just over 1,000 rpm).

Excellent stuff, it was well looked after and never tracked or modded and had no issues with it. And it had a brand new sent of Conti's and a 4-wheel alignment a few weeks before it was sold as well! Also the 3rd service (3yr or 30000miles) is paid for. I bet they never told you that!! I have the details if this was not passed onto you. It also has the 4th year manufacturer warranty in case you dont know. PM me if you want details. In addition my private plate is on certificate and still for sale - R300 VWR - offers welcome.

Cherished Plate now for sale in classified section (pending admin/mod approval)

Been on this forum for 4 years ("rforum" back in the day!) when there was not many members at all! But after two 7R's it's time to move on. So my current R is sold and the Jag replacement is on it's way. If you do see "FE65 SFY" on a used forecourt near you then I can say it has been a faultless car, never tracked or modded and no issues at all. Hope it finds a good home. I have private plate for sale that will be going into the classified section shortly. Safe driving all.

Picked my new R up from Auto Di Lusso detailers today.

I had mine done at same place last year. -
This is correct. I have same on a Jag F-Type I am looking at.

Nice but out of budget for me and only want and need one car. F400 looks a good option. Have found one that is near fully spec'ed, 4 months old, only 175 miles at 16k less than a new one.
-
Well I have starting looking too, but could be a complete change of type of car..... F-Type F400 AWD. I am just trying to come to terms with parting money.. LOL

Just to clarify some peoples posts. GL61 BGE is a red A6 S-Line 3.0 diesel which is still on the road today. The video certainly looks like an RS6 and certainly shifts like one up to the roundabout which is when the wheel/tyre gives up the ghost. Which would suggest false plates I presume/guess. The dashcam is from a 3-series estate I believe - Number plate hanging off matches the video And then they also did a Vectra/Insignia/Astra thing as well.

I did consider "maybe stolen" or "spotted" as topics...... 😀

Searched and couldnt find another post about this (I know the mods love merging multiple topics of the same thing!). Watched this today. The noise of those speed bumps when hit at 96mph made me wince!

I did have a chuckle at this parked up the other day - I actually circled around the car park twice to a get a photo for my collection. I bet it is quick with a 3.8 v6.

Could be me - but I am black 5DR

I have done 20000 miles on the original set of 235/35 R19 Y Conti 5P's and have 3mm left on all four tyres across the entire width.
