Paid off the last four months early. 55p in the £. Macan S D in the driveway. Awaiting final inspection by British Car Auctions. I have loved every minute in that car.

I have enjoyed my leased R for 2.5 years but the change itch has set in. I originally got the R to run alongside my now 10 yr old BMW X5. Early next year they are both set to go, to be replaced by a Porsche Macan S Diesel. I have gone fully to the oil burning Dark Side. What is next for other R Owners?

I didn't have an Option to Purchase. They offered to sell me the car. I didn't have an option to extend either. That was negotiated by agreement. If you had asked me what my contract says in detail I wouldn't know but I seem to remember some reference to them selling to a family member other than myself.

Anyone else had a fight with this as in jumping into car when it is open? I drew blood last time and a month on still have a lump on my shin.

My figures were received about three weeks ago and were two months prior to term end. I have since extended the lease and not thought anymore about it. At your purchase price I would have been researching finance options.

My purchase price was quoted by VWFS. I can see your dilemma on your figures.

Possible purchase price £19,500. Depreciation in first 24 months approx £9,000. Cost of lease first 24 months approx £7,200. Cost of lease next 12 months approx £3,300. I think depreciation in next 12 months could exceed this figure. Conclusion: even at nil rate of interest there is no point in financing a purchase.

I couldn't find anything better for less money. Not to renew would just be flirting with a new toy and getting less for more.

Including VAT?

My average cost of leasing per month was £300 inc vat. That's spreading out the initial payment. Lease extension offered at about the same monthly cost but also includes a 5000 mile excess mileage from initial term. Therefore my third year of lease will be about £39 a month cheaper than the first two years. Value?

R U buying VW again?

I was always under the impression that leases could not be extended. I would be interested in keeping my R. My monthly cost over 24 months has been about £300 inc VAT taking into account advance rental. My lease expires before the end of next March. No communication so far from VWFS. Will they kick off discussions and just what is achievable?
