  1. My coolant warning light has come on this evening for the second time in two months. I'm just out of warranty too. I don't mind paying for damage caused by myself, but based on the comments above there's clearly a generic problem.
  2. I bought mine - a 2 year old bog standard manual red 5 door in May 17 with 24,000 miles for £19,050 I tried to negotiate on price, but they weren't for moving and ran through cars on Autotrader with me in support of the quoted price.
  3. I may be hanging myself out to dry here, but is there anyone out there keen to switch those quad rear pipes for a more grown up pair of singles? I rang Milltek today in the hope they might consider providing a twin pipe option, however they won't unless there's a demand. I'd hope I'm not the only one. Am I?
  4. Can anyone help me with this? I bought a MAXI COSI Family seat base on Saturday and when I've come to fit it today, whilst it grabs the isofix bars in the rear seat it doesn't lock on, consequently the seat base slides left and right. Has anyone else experienced this same issue (Golf R 2015)? I'd rather not make the long journey back to the store if possible.
  5. Just bought mine - red, manual bog standard 5 door with 23k miles for £19,050. I tried to haggle on the price, but BCA wouldn't budge as they were confident they could sell it for the same money. I couldn't find anything similar for the price. Would've preferred an S3 with a DSG box, but not worth the £5k or so more. My only regret is not ordering the DSG at outset. I went to a VWFS BCA auction near Loughborough two months ago and the same cars were selling to traders at £18,700 or thereabouts.
  6. I've managed 16,000 on the original Bridgestone tyres, but they've not got long left. Just wondering whether anyone has got to 20k or beyond?
  7. That's a great deal Chris.
  8. In all my (too many) years, I've never seen a lease deal which is 1+23 and at £280 inc vat at 10k per annum?
  9. Does anyone know whether breakdown cover is included within a VW Financial Services lease, subject to you having the vehicle serviced within the manufacturers guidelines? My Audi was covered for the first three years, but this is the first time I've had a VW
  10. At 100 miles per week, is it worth having a car?
  11. Yep. I wish I'd paid the extra £30pm or thereabouts for the DSG. All I'm saying is that a 2.0tdi quattro A3 with a DSG box will be equally as quick as a manual R in everyday driving, more discreet and without having to give the impression that you're trying hard, which is what the manual R does when you put your foot down.
  12. Sorry, by urban I meant ring road and 60mph driving too. Yes, I've hammered in in first to third, but what I'm saying is that the diesel achieves a very similar end result with a lot less hassle. The additional torque just makes the diesel more suited to today's driving conditions in my opinion. 4WD yes, but not that much different. I also hate the four exhaust pipes at the back on both the R and the S3. A pair of ovals as per the RS3 would be much more discreet.
  13. I'm ready to be shot down, but I've had the Golf 15 months now and I can't say I've fallen for it. Mines a manual and in urban driving I find it makes no quicker progress than the 1.9tdi A3 I had before it. The A3 was certainly a more relaxing drive both around town and on the motorway due to the lower revs. The Golf reminds me of a Civic Type R I had in 2001 - you have to rev it hard to make progress, whereas the A3 diesel could make the same progress with less fuss. I won't be disappointed to see the two years come to an end.
