  1. Bought mine new from DTUK over a year ago and haven't regretted it one bit over the last 10k. Love that you can adjust its sensitivity to personal preference. Definitely worth the dollar in my eyes. I'm manual, so DSG owners may have a different opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I've had my MK7 R manual for nearly two years and have made the jump to a Scirocco R, it's just been built and on it's way to the UK as we speak. In my opinion the Rocco R has better styling but lacks the 4wd which will put a lot of people off. I'm on my 3rd Golf in a row, so thought it was time for a change!

    Beading

Furry beads this morning at -3! Drivers door was frozen shut, so I had to elegantly slither into the drivers seat from the passenger door. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Very close indeed! I can be pretty flexible on days/times, but it would be nice to see her in the light! Let me know or you can send me a text - 07960062994 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hi Belfast Col! Apologies for the slow reply, I've been away for Christmas & New Year! Please convince to spend the extra pennies and go for the S3 rather than the Scirocco R! Where abouts are you? It would be great to take a look at your S3 if it's not too much of a trek! Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hi Guys, I'm currently driving my fourth VW Golf and will be ordering a new car in January. Sorry to be a Golf R party pooper, but with the facelift Golf R up in the air and order books not likely to open until late February at the earliest I need to look at alternatives! Has anyone driven a Scirocco R or Audi S3? I'll be going for the DSG/S-Tronic transmission. Cheers, Josh
  7. Take a look at the Karcher outlet https://www.karcheroutlet.co.uk/products/maincat.asp?mid=Wet-and-Dry-Vacuum-Cleaners I got my wet & dry vac from there 3 years ago and the suction / maneuverability is excellent. Also handy that it doubles up as a wet vac for deep cleaning the carpets every 12 months.
  8. I swapped out the OEM for some Samsung 15W LED 6000k White bulbs. They only cost £15 for both and have made a huge difference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I paid £2100 including a £500 VW contribution at the time. £1600 out of my pocket in December 2014. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Jonny, You're an absolute legend for posting this! I'm currently paying £243 for 10,000PA, as I only did 7k in the first year, I contacted VWFS last week asking to re-quote for 15,000 miles over the two years. They responded promptly and I've just signed a new agreement for £218 per month. Not quite as impressive as your saving, but I'm still a happy man. 300 horses for £218 a month is a bargain! Cheers, Josh
  11. Britemax Metal Twins and a couple of microfibres cloths. You may need to use some fine wire wool if they're really caked, but a microfibre is all you need to maintain them after this has been removed. I've had the Metal Twins for well over a year now, so it lasts ages. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    B pillar

Nile, I find Britemax BlackMax to be the perfect remedy for the swirls on the gloss black trim on the R. http://www.perfectlycleaned.co.uk/britemax-black-max-ultra-fine-polishing-glaze----pre-wax-car-preperation---473ml-885-p.asp On light swirls the B pillars can be polished by hand with this, but a DA will give quicker results. The BlackMax is also an excellent finishing polish/glaze for any coloured paint. I hope this helps! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Just removed the clutch delay valve and I'm pretty impressed with the results. When pulling away from lights there is a much smoother feel from 1st - 2nd - 3rd. On the plus side there is no need to force out the valve! Simply release the metal C clip under the bleeder screw, pull the bleed screw fully out and the yellow delay valve will now fall out. Check the O ring and refit the bleed screw. I also tested putting the yellow delay valve back in and it's a doddle! I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a bit more clutch feel and if you don't like it, you can always but it back! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Mine goes in next Friday for its first service after 7k miles and I've been quoted £159 at the Harrogate dealership in North Yorkshire.
  16. Haha I haven't been compounding the hell out of it. Just a light going over with BlackMax and a finishing pad I think 3 times. Which shouldn't have taken any clearcoat at all really.
  17. The orange peel on the lapiz isn't bad at all, although it can be seen if you inspect the car panel by panel. The car is just short of 12 months old and has been DA'd a few times (2 months since the last) My biggest bugbear is the constant evidence of marks on the lapiz paint. No matter how careful I am the car always needs a good polish. Good job I enjoy spending hours on the car!
  18. A quick wash in the beaming sunshine this morning. Lapiz looks incredible in the sunlight IMO! MAD REFLECTIONS! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. It fires the car into race & opens the two exhaust valves when you're traveling in any other mode and need extra vroom!
  22. Depends how long it takes them to finalise production and get them online. I presume within a month or so.
  23. I'd like to say a big thank you to Steve over at Lockwood International in Leeds. My MK7 R has been used as the test car for the 3dr MK7 sill protectors. Photos were taken and they will be selling them for the MK7 R, GTI, GTD, TDI, TSI & a blank chrome version very soon for £48. You get the upper and lower protector in the pack, but I prefer the cleaner look of just the upper fitted. Apologies for the reflections on the images, it's not easy photographing shiny chrome! Let me know your thoughts!

    Christmas

Welcome! The manufacturing times have certainly improved. I have to wait from Oct 14 - May 15 for mine! Enjoy!
  25. I spent a few hours on Monday giving my car it's first detail after the winter months. Then topped up with another layer of sealant this morning. Products used - Chemical Guys Glossworks Shampoo Bilt Hamber Clay Dodo Juice Born Slippy Lube Britemax BlackMax Isopropyl Alcohol Gyeon CanCoat Sealant Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour Meguiars Endurance Tyre Gel I'm very impressed with the gloss level and the beading of the Gyeon CanCoat. Can't comment on durability yet.
