How do,
Clutch started slipping on Thursday night run home from work and with the turbo spooling it was just getting rapidly worse. Any attempt to accelerate above 2.5k revs and the rev needle started climbing without any acceleration like it was a CVT...
I've dropped it in to VW Telford today to see if it will be a warranty job. My options were limited, I could go to a specialist assuming it won't be a warranty job and pay out, haven't got a quote but there is a good one locally.
I decided to assume it will be a warranty issue because frankly I don't drive it particularly hard all that often. If they decide it's non-warranty it will be £1000 plus, to get them to put the car back together for me to take it elsewhere will cost £567 (for 3 hours work to reassemble lol). As I'm going with the warranty angle I didn't see the point getting quote from specialists to see how much I would have saved going straight to them, I doubt they will less than £500 using VW parts.
I've never had a clutch go on a car before, but then I've only had one car this powerful before and that didn't last long because the kids came along.
Not many people talking about clutch issues so I think they will blame my driving...I've already told them it's the last VW I will ever have if that's the case.
Will let you know how I get on...
