Hello, I have had the same problem on my car, I noticed that the car was parked on the drive with the n/s washer jet assy sticking out, I just pressed it gently (I do mean gently!) and it slid back in. A couple of days later they were both sticking out and again gentle pressure and they popped back in. 3rd time I found them both out I gave them a good spray of WD40 on the shaft assy, slid them back in and no problem since. I think that the shaft may get some dirt contamination when in use and eventually lead to sticking, I haven’t changed or topped up washer fluid so it’s not a freezing thing in my opinion.

Hello all, To try and make a medium story as short as possible, I have a Golf R manual, I recently had a Revo stage 1 carried out and after no real testing had the dreaded 'clutch slip'. I was afraid this might happen so prepared myself mentally to upgrade the clutch if required, so I ordered a Sachs organic clutch kit from 'Awesome'. Today clutch was fitted at my local VW dealer and I took my wife with me to collect the car, she drives the car daily so it was her that drove the car away, I arrived home 5 minutes after her and to say she was pretty upset would be an understatement! She said the car is undriveable and she could hardly push the pedal down, I went out to try the car and she is not far wrong, it was horrible, pedal is very heavy, clutch judder from take off and just has an unconvincing feel to it. Has anyone else done the same thing and if so how are you finding it? I am in a very difficult place now as I need to resolve or improve this pronto but having just spent £1100 upgrading the clutch it seems the only answer might be to replace it for standard again which I'm sure will be the same again! This also effectively means I wasted over £700 on the Stage 1 with SPS switch! 😩Help!

Hello guys , making progress with the car now as you can see, went for clubsport S front discs and pads and Vagbremtechnic rear discs with standard pads. All fitted by my local VW dealer for a very good price, already have millers racing 300+ brake fluid and it's fair to say that the stopping power feels very good indeed and certainly more bite than original brakes. That's on the upside, on the downside (in a way) is the Sachs performance clutch kit sitting in the garage waiting to be fitted as the original 'chocolate' clutch lasted 4 days after my stage 1 Revo remap 😩And I hadn't pushed it much at all, I got the SPS switch at the same time which is a good addition in my opinion. Now looking forwards to Spa and Nurburgring in June! 🏎 -
Thanks for that, I was hoping it would be easily removed, cheers

Hello, I'm doing my first track day in the R next weekend and one of the requirements appears to be that the front towing eye should be fitted to the vehicle in case it is required. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what did you do with the cover as it's held in place so as not to get lost when removing it, however this would mean it flapping around when on the track and I don't fancy that all day. Is it ok to remove it and cut the retaining cord? What have others done? Cheers.

Hi, what clutch did you go for and did you replace the flywheel too? I'm manual too and am looking to go stage 1 with Miltek cat back, Sachs clutch upgrade (been advised to do flywheel as well) with Clubsport front discs and ??? front pads, what are your thoughts? cheers -

Hi TXR, I live in Downham Market, yes, do drop me a line next time your about as it's still often a pleasure to drive around our Norfolk roads! I like the look of AMD so I might give them a call and see how I get on and how I feel after a chat. What are are you having done with your car as it sounds interesting? Peter

Hello all, I'm taking a trip to Europe in June and have booked to do Spa Francorchamps and the 'Green Hell' and have decided to carry out some tuning mods on the R for even more fun! I realise some of these mods are quite devisive but your experienced advice would be appreciated. I'm planing to get a stage 1 remap but don't know which one to go for, there is Revo, APR, also AMD tuning who are offering a half price remap if you have a Miltek exhaust from them, what are your thoughts? I also plan to get a cat back exhaust fitted and am tempted by Miltek and BCS but would want a resonated (quieter) one as I don't want any boom or drone when cruising, again any thoughts? Will these exhausts still have valves and will they be switched in the normal way, i.e. By selecting Race or Individual mode? My car is manual so I think I need to fit a Sachs clutch, there are 2 to choose from and given that I'm only going stage 1, will the 407lbs one be sufficient? I will also be getting a pair of Clubsport front brake discs which will hopefully improve braking performance a little, not that I have had any issues with the brakes, I had Millers 300+ racing brake fluid fitted at PDI and it seems pretty good so far. I live in Norfolk so is there any advice regarding service agents that could carry this work out, I don't mind travelling if the place has a good reputation. Thanks guys for any advice or input you can offer.

So has anyone actually taken their MY16 R into the dealer without performance monitors and come out later with performance monitors? I had mine in the dealers last week and they sent a 'Direct information system service' enquiry and on it it says I have a 5F unit and asks if it can be adapted, VW came back later saying they (one individual) were not aware of any process to enable this. What is 5F unit? What is a FES code?

Looks really good to me, rather like a colour offered on the Polo I believe, also Jaguar, I like it

"> "> "> Managed to get the wheels finished on the car this morning by applying the Gyeon cure treatment, this needs to be applied to the sealed surface 3 hours or more after initial application, so the car has Gyeon Q2 prime on the paintwork and wheels and Nanolex ultra glass sealant on the glass, we shall see how it performs!

Decided to use my 'Gyeon Q2 Prime' that I had left over to seal my wheels, don't see why it shouldn't work just as well as a dedicated wheel sealing product, what do you guys think? Car is tucked up in the garage now, just need to apply the 'Cure' part of the treatment tomorrow, then I will take some pictures and also let you know how it fairs in the future.
