  2. It took me 6 months to settle in. Squat adjustment sorely missed- literally. Don’t forget the centre box. That lid slides forward and can be raised as an elbow rest at any level. That helps a lot. I’m 5’11” inside leg 30” (that’s an important parameter by the way!) I’m set now with the steering wheel at its lowest position to just see the indicator lights green- on the dash. Pity I can’t hear them when I’m in S or rough tarmac The mirror orange lights help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do to your R today?

Ouch Rebecca. I’m saving up for 2 x MPS4 s for the front too. They’re €210 each here. The original Conti 5P s have done 25,000 now. I’m obviously not doing enough launches...... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hello Batch, I’d be keen to hear what you think of the ARB on the car. Mine has DCC on 19” but I’d be keen to reduce the lean a bit at the rear. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Jonner, I think that by that time there will be a stream of newbies wanting to dip their foot into the E market but not pay top dollar. Your second hand car will be perfect for them. Also, the infrastructure will be better, more accessible for charging. I think that VW will need or are addressing the business of “ hot swappable” batteries. I did see a battery pack being placed into a VW Golf on YouTube recently. It was fascinating and like something passing up into the Starship Enterprise. So, you could upgrade and p/x your original if needs be. That company that I drew your attention to in the previous post is already producing 55 kwh battery for a Golf. Just this week I read that there will be a “roll out” of chargers that need no infrastructure at all. That will reduce cost for the provider and increase availability to drivers. In other words I imagine a big truck coming to any open area- not necessarily a petrol station and lowering a pre charged tardis like object that weighs a ton and is full of electricity and you can charge up/ buy from that. This will then be replaced at regular intervals with replenished tardis ( what’s the plural of tardis???) Interesting times for sure but man if people struggle with the lack of aural stimulation coming out of the exhaust of a Golf R then they are in for a big surprise with the rush with hush that’s coming. Lots of other thoughts too many to place here now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

OK let’s talk about eGolf. I’m going to keep my R for the moment but I really feel I’ll go electric after that and it’ll be the eGolf. I’m sure it’ll be the end of motoring life as WE know it but one never knows. What if..... what if.... and I think it is on the cards when I see the “mods” to that Renault Zoe and the development of Formula E... I get an eGolf and have it modified to increase the performance? Consumption won’t be a big issue as you’ll fuel up every night....Maybe fuel up from the batteries that are fed from the solar panels on the roof of your house. The two grand a year you depend on fuel could be spent on mods. I know I’m dreaming. Kool though as that’s allowed.... Check out this link. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Damion. My error. It is 95 octane at Applegreen. I do know that Circle K - previously Topaz have their Miles plus fuel which is supposed to be 97 but I think, as stated here above, they may well be using additives. It’s worth checking the biker’s forum as a lot of those Ninjas are always looking for high octane stuff. I’m so glad I got back to you in time before you came South. Personally, I do use Applegreen and also the Maxol garage on the Sandyford Road. I’ll watch out for it too and refer back if I find any.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hi Damo, Only kidding. I think it was around 1.39 per litre over the norm of 1.35. You’ll have noticed that fuel cost has dropped back a bit over the last two weeks TG. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hello Jenner, I’ve been running 95 octane ( normal for IRL although it is never written anywhere) for nearly three years now without issue. More recently, almost by accident, I noted that in Applegreen on the N11 Southbound at Booterstown they had 98! ( about 50 euros a litre) Of course I jumped at it but have felt no difference under normal use FYI. A nice treat for the car though to have full fat fuel for a change.... Drive Mode Percentages

What a great thread! Car has 19” and DCC I reckon I spend a lot of time in Eco or Individual. Individual has most things in Sport except the Interior sound is set in Eco. TBH with the pedal box on Green ++ the car is quick enough around town in Eco. When there’s a load of speed bumps or I’m three up I put it into Comfort BUT I hate the “ big American engine lump “ sound. Seems dumb when it’s in Comfort mode. I try and avoid that. Now I think about it I wonder whether I might stay in Individual mode and just soften the suspension setting. I have to say that when you are alone and shift to Sport, use the paddles then it sounds like a war on wheels and goes like a dingbat.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
