  1. My latest hobby is to take off the traction control and stability. Press that knob as if your going to do a launch - until you hear the “ping” sound, but drive the car instead and a lot of the feel will come through the steering wheel. Odd thing to do but try it out for yourself.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. Certainly put the Pedal box on. That’s reversible too. I was two years too late putting mine on. It is cheap and completely transforms the car. The other thing I’ve done lately is to spend more time with the traction control OFF to the point off the “ding” noise as if you were doing a launch. With the occasion summer shower it’s a joy to feel the tyres a bit more as things are a bit sterile otherwise unless you’re at a silly velocity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Just cleaned them of dirt and cleared swirls with Meguires NTX. It has a really fine cut in it that will remove swirl and not damage the piano black appearance. Try it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Deffo! I’ve been meaning to raise that point for ages. Not that important as we, the driver, know that but when someone else is driving or it’s a bit windy I really have to be vigilant. I could say it’s for big hefty Germans to get out easily but we are all big and hefty these days thanks to our friend Fructose and the incorrect obsession of low fat high carb diet! Oh I forgot that this is the wrong forum for that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Yes I agree. I had a nasty groovelike scratch on my DPB bumper and have rendered it back to super smooth. I’m just waiting for the still weather and courage to do the primer and paint phase. I do suppose that being black it’s the same as the colour beneath so I may have an advantage over you. Scary bananas stuff though but you’ll save hundreds. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. It’s just very tight. Tug hard and directly upward. Then grease it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Ha! I just saw the rest of this lengthy thread. Learned a bit from it too! I’m just waiting for the squeak to reveal itself- I may have heard it a very low speed trundling down our lane at low speed in the morning. Now I know that it’s the lower bushes...... Thank you. 9. Jack it right up and spray WD40 up onto the shocks and springs on each corner. Cheap and cheerful first. Then review. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. I’m curious too.... I was never offered it at the end of my 3 yr. PCP when taking over the car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Better throttle response throughout really. It just takes the dull grey sky throttle response to the level of a bright, sunny and breezy day. Transforms it IMO. Cheap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Get a DTUK pedal box and put it at Sport Plus and get back to me.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Ah! Now that is a potential significant weight saving. Any info. on that? The R is a very heavy car to lug around. Pretoria rims weigh a ton each...... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  15. I must have a different Golf R. I have a 2016 DPB 5 door, keyless, leather, DCC, ETC ETC but specifically requested NO panoramic sun roof as I think it’s superfluous with the decent ac in the car. Maybe that’s the key to enhancing the feeling of solidity and for sure rigidity. To my senses the car is rock solid, planted on Michelin tyres and after three years it still feels super taut and like living inside a Rolex watch. It’s a keeper for me until I “ upgrade” to an electric hairdryer ( E Golf or ID!) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
