  1. JB4 (both on map 1 and 2) and res delete installed. Mine does this as it shifts from 2nd to 3rd.
  2. This happens to my (2018 R DSG 7 spd), but only on the first manual shift from 1st to 2nd after I start the car. It only happens when I am fairly hard on the gas. Once I get one easy (light on the throttle) 1st-2nd shift out of the way I can get on it and the car shifts normally. It does not matter if the engine is warm or cold. It is a VERY loud harsh bang and quite alarming. My 2015 DSG 6 spd used to do this only once is the morning after a cold start. After that the car would not do it again all day. With the 2018 DSG 7 spd, it will happen even if the car sits just 30 minutes. Also, my DSG 7 spd will sometimes *automatically* shift from 3rd to 4th while in sport/manual (M) even though it is not even close to the redline shift point.
  3. Does it sound like this? This started to happen to my 2018 after JB4 install. It only happens during LC into 3rd gear. On Map 2 it is very evident, and Map1 it is less noticeable. We can't figure out what is causing this. JB4 stated that it only happens on some cars with both JB4 and APR tune.
  4. Correction: If the fuel flap works after this, check the battery.
  5. This happened on my 2015 when the battery started to die. Turn ignition on (foot off brake), wait a bit, then turn ignition back off. Is the filler flap still stuck? If so, check battery.
  6. Mine started refusing to open when my battery was dying. Cycle the door locks while parked to see if it clears stuck gas flap.
  7. The same thing happened to my 2015 R. 8. If you don't mind vacuuming it up all the time. When I first showed the tear to the dealer he tried the "normal wear and tear" bit, but when I showed him the foam falling out of the bottom he conceded and agreed to replace the entire bottom of the chair. He added that it was a very difficult repair to perform. There was a small scratch on the door sill, but I let them slide on that. Recommend a fender cover on the door sill just in case.
  9. FWIW.. The dealer fixed my bolster tears on my 2 year old R (2015). Do you also see a lot of white foam material falling out of the bottom of the seat on to the floor? FYI, the bolster material is not real leather.
  10. I have triggered this many times on my 2015 R. My lights go off after approx 10 minutes. I'll time it the next time it happens. ** A quick google search found this for a MK6 GTI: The Golf has a feature turned on by default in countries that have the “auto” European light switch. The only requirements are the Central Electronics Controller (09) of type 3C0 XXX XXX XX, a RegenLichtSens (RainLightSensor) and the European light switch. The operation of the system is: Lights turn on at 140kph (actual speed not speedometer speed) Lights turn off after 10 minutes driving under 80kph (again actual speed) or 10 minutes stopped (with or without ignition turned off) Ref: http://www.my-gti.com/208/volkswagen-golf-auto-headlights-above-140kph
  11. This happened to my 2015 Golf R since purchased March last year. Since about three months ago it just stopped happening. Everything was fine. Last week I got my NAVI map update during my 1 year dealer inspection and now it is happening again. My car is the Japanese variant of the Golf R.
