  1. They are great tyres....I've run mine for around 1k miles now and pretty much every mile I drive my car like I stole it and they are very good especially when pushed to the limit, by far the best tyres I've run on any of my cars.....you'll like them.
  2. Warranty claim No. 5 for me (or 6.....I can't remember) came and went today. Coolant leak this time and all fixed, was the pump housing....thrn on my drive home the engine light came on, went into limp mode so back to VW and 1 hr later a sensor was found to be not plugged in......the fucktards.
  3. All my Golfs looked better without their front plates but I only ran without one for shows and photos etc and it's just not worth the fine and arse ache if you get pulled. All the Mk5/Mk6 and Mk7 Golfs have a HUGE shitty plinth which ruins the front end of all those cars, even getting rid of the plinth is a bonus......which all reminds me to get the bodyshop to fill those holes. I used both double sided suction cup plate or magnet plates and will do again once holes are filled.

Which ones? I've had 2 lots......niether remained on the car. 1st pair were sticky backed and didn't stick and the second pair were stolen from the car while in the bodyshop. lol both were from eBay and both were around £30.
  5. Go test drive a few cars with/without DCC and Prets and see what you think, it's a subjective thing. I drove a fair few 7Rs while looking for mine, some with DCC and some without and was generally underwhelmed by it.....not worth ticking that option box if buying new (for me) but if it comes on a 2nd hand car then great.........but as mentioned it does depend what you're used to. My 7R came with the 18" Cadiz and I swapped to 19" wheels a month or so ago and notice no difference.
  6. Yes you may get the CEL come on with ANY low cell DP, some run with it never coming on and others (like me on previous VAG cars) have it come on straight away....and mine was BCS BTW. Not really a fuss....get it coded out with VCDS and remember to warm that zorst up at MOT time. 99 out of 100 it's not an issue but you don't want to be the 1 who fails.

Yeap, completely agree re the R600 noise! It's just so quiet which was unexpected. Hard to tell with mine with the other noises as i fitted the Muffler delete, TT pipe and DV+ at once so not sure which part is doing what re noise. There is extra noise there and a small woooossshhhh diisssshh from the intake but NOTHING like my old days of open filters. Was never a fan of canister CAIs or closed CAIs due to the potential of all sorts of stuff getting caught in them and hindering the all important flow. I may yet get the open Intergrated Engineering CAI (after Stage 1 map) and run back2back dyno runs and see what's what and see which one flows better.

OSIR one looks the dingles but ive seen a few bad OSIR products over the years from my Ed30 days with either the carbon weave appearance or fitment issues. If it's possible to be bought through the TT shop and collected and/or fitted by them.....then maybe. When I saw Alex (AKS) the other day he said he liked your spoiler, subtle but in a good way. Also told me the Oettinger one can be bought from TPS so I may do that. Id still like to see if the Clubsport S one can fit. I'll need to get the OEM part numbers of the current Mk7R spolier and the underneath part of the Clubsport S one as I reckon they are the same part...thrn it's possibly a case of removing the side trims and fitting the new, wider trims and CS S spolier, worth looking and finding out if nothing else, nothing ventured....and all that! Would look uber cool on a mere 7R.....
  9. I don't have a link to the ones I bought, was a while ago. Just looked and lots on there....."Mk7 R Gloss Black emblems" or "Mk7 R Gloss Black Badges" and that should do you. Front emblem is very simple to fit......remove the 2 T20 Torx screws holding the grill in place and the grill just pops off, flip it over and push the Chrome VW emblem taps through to the front CARFULLY and it will come off, new one pops in. Rear emblem is also fairly easy but requires a little more care, video below......
  10. Which isn't too bad then....pretty good price for the whole lot TBH.

Shes a beauty (although I would say that). 😄 Yeap......those are my choices too. Leaning towards the Oettinger but that'll change! 😜
  12. Sure that can't be for just the roof spoiler, maybe the "spoiler kit" is the roof spoiler and some other Oettinger parts.....or at least I BLODDY hope so for £2k
  13. Vinyl wrapping them will be good but IMHO the Gloss Black eBay ones will still look better as I've done both and I'm pretty good at wrapping. I added a little double sided sticky tape to the back of both my Gloss Black eBay ones and they ain't going nowhere till I pull them off one day. Plus with the eBay ones I bought came with a backing plate for the rear which was a bonus as I colour coded it....saved removing the whole handle/mech to do that little job. ebay ones fitted....

I'd give it all 7 out of 10 for toughness (they are plastic but as they aren't load bearing not a biggy), 9 out of 10 for colour match for the Gloss BLack Maxton parts and 10 out of 10 for the Rieger Spoiler colour match. I'm being fussy/picky to be fair as the colour match for the Maxton parts doesn't really show and with multiple layers of polish and wax they will blend in even better. As for the fit....all 10 out of 10...all the parts line up perfectly as they've been made/designed/molded to "mold" to the lines of the cars bumpers, both front and rear. Not an issue with the sides as it flat surface against a flat surface. Makes the the car look a touch lower and noticalbe more purposeful IMHO. As I've gone for the Blue/Black look they are a win win for me. About £500 for the lot but a fair price when compared to a few other options out there. ill post a few more pics from different angles if the thunder and lighting ever stops!
  15. Got mine from eBay and they also come with the backing plate for the rear one. They fit but are fairly loose. Vinyl wrap will do the trick if you want to use your OEM ones.

Thanks. I was told it should be a warranty job......we shall see. 👍🏻
  17. I'll post some more pics in my build thread (once I take some over the weekend)...saves spamming this thread......(any more 😇) The mirror caps pop off pretty easily once you know where the clips are....there are only 2. Once you see the inside of the mirror caps you'll see the 2 clips so will know where to unclip from the inside of the mirror housing. I just positioned mirror glass in lowest position which gave enough room to get a very thin flat headed screw driver inside to release the taps......then the caps will just slide off........new ones just pop on once positioned correctly. Some peeps completly remove the glass for better access....up to you. Lower silver trim on the bumper does not pop off unless you remove the bumper but I wrapped mine in place e and without removing the bumper. Did mine in 3 sections as per the trim itself.
  18. Spats were very easy to do as I followered another members fitting of theirs (Stobsie IIRC) which was with double sided tape and 3 self tapping screws per side, works a treat and is NEVER going move EVER! Followed that method with the side difussers too, double sided taped along whole length and then (with a mates help) stuck into place, you'll only get one go at this, then drilled pilot holes through both diffuser and skirt and then used 7 sell tapping screws per side. Mark hole positions on spats and diffusers first before sticking part in place so as to avoid current screws etc. i bought Halfords own double sided tape......best tape I've ever used. Was more than stong enough to hold EVERYTHING in place without screws I bet!!
  19. No spacers...not needed with the REVO wheels really as they fill the arches as they are.
  20. Add a turbo muffler delete to the tt intake pipe, muffler delete does what it says on the tin. Don't avoid the R600 intake because of the noise...this isn't an open cone/filter CAI which sounds like Darth Vadar with asthma BUT if your after adding flow a little to make best of your stock then mod your OEM intake and swap out the filter. Add a Res delete and all good for a smidge more sound.
  21. Also available from TPS apparantly.
  22. Cant wait to see the rears then! Hope they are as subtle as the fronts! 😁
  23. MC71

    hello!

Welcome on board Mark. If your after a smidge more noise (burble) then ask Nige about a Res delete as your current OEM system is already valved so a win win. If your after adding more power to your car and want better flow from the system then all you need is a downpipe but and your after looks then a cat back with a choice of tips......BUT if you want all that and more go full TBE!! Enjoy
  24. I keep looking at mudflap pics on the web.....let us know if you believe it makes a noticalbe difference.
