Just wondering since the latest update has anyone else had this issue… https://photos.app.goo.gl/HazmkLKqT73riGCx5 touch screen & shortcut buttons don’t work at all! Even with a hard reset it doesn’t fix, then when start the car the next day it works ok. (Until decides to stop working again). At the moment it’s done this 4 days out of the week so starting to get really annoying 🤬 Due to everything being controlled through the touch screen means can’t change the fan speed, a/c, music, stop/start, maps, CarPlay and so on. So annoying as the mk8 is a great car except for the unreliable touch screen. My lease is due to end soon and rather than go for mk8.5 think will be considering buying an mk7.5. current software info for reference

hi @Fruitloop these hold the false boot floor when you lift it up so can get items from under neath without having to hold it or lift the false floor out completely 😉

Thanks @Holmes 😊 love the Lapiz too & it’s first time I’ve spec’d it. Had a white mk7 & previous car was black so thought go for the blue as a change, so glad it did 😁 Will say though still don’t think you can beat a clean black car, they look stunning & love the stealth look it gives. So don’t worry sure you’ll love it, don’t think you can go wrong with any of the colours on the R tbh they all look great!

Had no issues so far & used quite a lot since had the car (even in Scotland 😂😜) Like the extra light it brings into the cabin & mostly use the tilt function, only thing don’t really like is the touch button to operate it rather than the button as per the mk7. Can sometimes be difficult to press for the right function while on the move. I’m slightly biased as had pano roof on my mk7 & previous X3 so when received the deal & could afford the pano roof kept it on the build.

Hey @Peter Wynne I watched some YouTube videos & think seen a post on here. If you lower the mirrors to point to the ground it should leave a big enough gap at the top of the mirror to see the clips & use the tool supplied to push the clips down & pull off the other cap off. Sorry just seeing this so if you tried it hope it went ok 🤞🏻👍🏻

Mine doesn’t stay synced either 😩 been really frustrated with this over the past couple of days & thought it might just be mine. My mate has a GTD mk8 & his stays synced! So far the only software issues I’ve had are the synced climate & road signs reading kph rather than mph so 🤞🏻 Don’t get anything else & an update comes to fix these ones

@JaseW I didn’t get any instructions either, I just went on YouTube & searched for mk7 install video’s. Managed to find one & followed that best as could. see you’ve managed to sort it now 👍🏻

Picked the R up this evening after having it’s detail & ceramic coating applied 😊 So happy I picked Lapiz blue 💙

So contacted the dealership & they stated that the mats are dependant on what the factory supply with the vehicle on the production line so have no control what they put in. So looks like might be stuck with the normal mats or maybe it’s because the blue R mats are the latest thing the VW production line has ran out of 🤣 Will wait & see

The glasses holder is felt lined if that twists your arm 🤣😉 Now your twisting my arm haha. Next things on (possibly) buy list are sill protectors & space saver spare wheel.

Just wondering what car mats peoples cars are coming with? Sure I’ve seen people with blue R specific ones but mine seem to be black with no blue border or R logo?

Finally got my R so thought post some pics & share any mods carried out etc Ordered the car 9th April, got build week of W/C 24th May 21 (was an allocated slot with mendable spec), arrived at the dealership 22nd June but due to dealer holiday/mix up booking the transporter for delivery didn’t get it until 15th July. After having a quick drive to see how it was carried out the first few mods (thanks to getting ideas reading this forum waiting for delivery 🤣😂) - changed to gloss black wing mirrors - changed to aluminium foot rest - sun glasses holder - Window wipers - Gas Strut - Key cover Have to say over the moon with it & love Lapiz Blue such a nice colour! Anyway a few pics ….

Bet you can’t wait until Wednesday 😁 As someone said it’s just the replacement of the grab handle with one of these. Never done it before but since the mk8 lost the upper store section thought I’d try it so my door bin can store other items.

Thanks mate, it’s currently in for a new car detail & ceramic coating so hopefully that will protect it for a year or so 🤞🏻 Not really had the chance to drive it properly only been to work & back which is mostly motorway, but first impressions from what I have done are great! Steering nicely weighted, brakes are massive didn’t expect them to be so big 🤣 & oft course the power…. can’t wait to drive it more 😁 this is also my first time having Lapiz blue & so glad I picked it.. it’s stunning!!

I ordered the ones from Aliexpress someone posted on here, fitted them last night & think they are perfect 👍🏻 even managed to fit them without taking the mirror glass out 🤞🏻

Finally got mine delivered on Thursday and absolutely love it!! 😊😁 Already changed the mirror caps to gloss black, sun glasses holder fitted, changed to aluminium foot rest, & changed to Bosch wiper blades. Just need to get washers/a nut to fit the gas bonnet strut & that should be everything…. At the moment 🤣 (few pics below from last nights wash)

I was tempted to get the Lockwood ones as I’ve previously had on my other golfs, however seen the new polo gets these on r line versions so might do some research to see if they possibly fit or if the golf will eventually get them too at some point with the updates.

… already have one from a previous car 🤣 my mate has recently got a Mk8 GTD so have double checked to make sure it fits 👍🏻

Tried hard to resist but after seeing all the items posted here decided to splash out on Aliexpress and have now received the gloss black mirrors, foot rest & decided to give the sun glasses holder a go. That’s me received my finance docs through for signing so car is in the UK 😊 should get it in the next 7-10 days can’t wait!! Also received my black mirror caps & metal foot rest so all good to go when it arrives 😁
