My advice, read the reviews on Adrian Flux from those that have had to make a claim. Personally, I will never use them again after the service I received from them and the underwriter (Marker Study). Even after they offered me a huge discount on the following years premium. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah the temperature variations is the only downside imo; although the heated seats sorts out the cold seats in winter. Maintenance wise, probably easier to clean as a quick wipe removes any dirt which would probably have stained a cloth seat. As you say, it’s personal preference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve had this after getting new locks / keys fitted. Dealer had to fix it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Nothing can be worse than the standard alcantara on the mk7’s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Unfortunately this could be a common issue. Over on the chavbook group, all the kids on there are always selling tuning parts when they put the car back to stock before selling. Some stage 1, 2 and sometimes stage 3 cars are stripped of tuning parts and sold as ‘stock’ cars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, pretty much exactly the same. We’ll more than likely be paying the final payment to take full ownership, which is why we are adding the options we want. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It’s generally not a good idea to add options to a lease as the full cost of the options are spread over the course of the term (seem to remember the options added around £120 to the monthly cost - 3 year term) We did add options to our GTI (panroof, DSG, 19” wheels and Dynaudio) purely because the allowance from my wife’s work more than covered the cost. If it appreciates, buy it. If it depreciates, lease it. Although I too will be breaking this rule, our leased GTI is going back shortly and will be replaced by a purchased Mini JCW - only reason is my wife gets a very good deal buying through her work scheme (she works for a large bank) - total cost inc interest is around £5k cheaper than the cash price from Mini. [emoji23] I think my neighbour uses the same for their cars. Our windows almost shake when they start their cars (Porsche 718 and a MB G63AMG). The Porsche sounds amazing for a 2 litre. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

3 star euro cylinder locks are the best you can buy. Just means the thieves get in via a different route. In my case, just broke the glass in the french doors as they knew they couldn’t just snap the locks. Goes to show you can have all the security in the world to try deter thieves. Yet, some will always try. The last line of defence is car security. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They just found the keys. I hid the car keys and disklok keys in different places whilst we were on holiday. The thieves found both. Most people keep the disklok keys with their car keys, rendering it useless. IMO, disklok is only useful to protect keyless theft - although you don’t hear many stolen this way. I wouldn’t do anything hasty based purely on the figures from the on board boost gauge. It’s a gimmick and not entirely sure on its accuracy. Get some concrete evidence before you start informing insurance companies etc. Did you buy from a VW dealer? If so, take it back and ask them to check. If it had been mapped then you need to decide what your next course of action is; reject the car or get them to re-flash the stock map on there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My house is probably more secure than most. Cctv, alarm, locked iron side gates, 3 star euro cylinder lock, sash jammers and front & rear security lights. Took 8 mins for 3-4 twonks to break in and search the whole house for hidden keys. Autowatch Ghost was the only security measure which stopped my car being taken (disklok ended up on my front lawn). Yes, home security is important. Car security is the only thing which could stop your car being stolen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve got ghost on my Mk7. Had no issues with a warranty claim a few years ago. Told VW it had a ghost immobiliser and it was in service mode so they shouldn’t have any problems. They were fine and completed the warranty work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry to hear this, it’s an awful thing to go through. I’ve had the misfortune to go through this twice; first time was many years ago for our MK5 GTI and second nearly 3 years ago for my R. Thankfully both cars survived. It’s the affects on children which is the biggest issue. It took my daughter (who was around 6 years old at the time of the first break in) many many months before she would go upstairs alone. Hope you all recover from this. I’ve had the car 4.5 years and have no intention yet to change it. DIY oil change is around £40, no brainer in my eyes. My car has done under 2000 miles since it’s official service last June. The gunk under the oil filter was awful due to the lack of use and very short journeys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I do 6 monthly oil changes regardless of mileage. Previous one was under 2000 miles. I always use genuine oil filter and new sump plug and drain the oil properly. I have the standard under tray which doesn’t need to be removed. Off the top on my head, it’s about £15-16 for the filter & sump plug. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fair enough.....maybe just add a litre or two, get the oil up to temperature then remove the drain plug until it starts dripping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why do you think this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I used OBDeleven when I serviced mine. If you are going to the expense and hassle of servicing it, personally it seems daft not replacing the filter. If you are unsure on the level, I suppose you could remove the first drain plug, add a couple of litres of fresh oil, then follow the process to check the level. If it were me, I would do a proper service. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
