  1. Soooo, after placing my order on the 16th May, and going around the houses with VW over the past month, my car is finally here. Popped by the dealer yesterday to sign the finance documents and pay off the balance on the deposit. Managed to have a look at the car, still in its wrapping, to make sure everything was as expected. With the excitement of finally seeing the car in person, only managed to grab one decent pic [emoji28]. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this forum stuff so hopefully the pics have actually made it on to this post. Did manage to remember to take a pic of the carbon mirrors, which I had never actually seen in person. Stoked I actually choose them in the end. Expecting delivery early next week. Just can't wait to drive this thing out of the dealership now [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51] and will post some proper pictures of the car then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hi all, first post here. Thought I'd finally create an account and get involved. This thread has been immensely helpful. More so than my dealer, who has been completely useless. Placed my order back on the 16th May and didn't have a clue about the production delays until I stumbled upon it in this thread. According to the tracker my order is in the build process, has been for 2 weeks now, and the dealer is now telling me to not expect it to be completed for another 2 to 3 weeks, plus another additional week or 2 for delivery. My biggest issue with this has been the lack of communication throughout. I only received an update once I started to chase, and even then, I received half arsed responses. I keep being told the delay is down to a high demand in Golf R's and not a word has been mentioned regarding a supplier issue. This is my first brand new car, and I had expected a lengthy lead time, but 4 months and counting, with no definitive delivery date, is pretty poor.
