  1. It's a shame the atk isn't available as a rim lock otherwise ideal. The Yale locks were silly money when I was looking. I think you can get some special spray, maybe graphite I think for the lock to keep it working well, maybe it needs that?
  2. To add I know you can have both keyed alike
  3. I asked this question of a few different suppliers and was told they designed the Atk for home builders as a standard new fit as it easier to get keys cut as it is a standard key and were targeting this market and were not phasing out the abs. When i I bought I was advised to go for the abs due to keyed alike and the fact it's harder to copy the key
  4. Just an update for everyone. I have been offered £50 M&S as a goodwill gesture and a smart repair. I have told them not to take the 'P' They have gone away to think again as I made the point i would be looking for either a full bonnet respray or to hand the car back if that's it. To to say I am seething is an understatement, and told them they were insulting.
  5. Thanks for all the other comments, they have been great. to answer some of the others, I don't mind damage as I will almost definitely get chips, but at least they are my damage that is my fault etc. I will call back Monday and lay it out to them again. How much compensation would people want? Someone mentioned they they got some vouchers for £250 for some damage under the filler cap so that was my starting point potentially. Thanks again, all the responses have been great.
  6. I saw the deal on carleasing as at the time it was the best deal left, under £300, and £1700 in for 2 years. The terms and conditions doesn't state delivery damage, so that is checked off. At the time I was told the supplier was someone else and was only when I was told car was ready that collection was not possible. I asked for a low loader to deliver but was told it had to be delivered by a professional driver. Funnily enough when he arrived he said I had to order him a taxi and had it in race mode so was having a great time.
  7. Affinity have seen seen the damage but they are not interested, they said I have to deal with the supplying dealer, then said I don't have a contract with them, even though they were the ones that were paid. When challenged they said speak to carleasing, carleasing say to speak to the finance company, when challenged they have gone back to affinity who are dire and don't want to do anything. They are the idiots who said I should have checked the car, even though they have delivered it in such a manner. currently dealing with the supplying dealer who are helpful to a limit, but trying to minimise their losses on the car. It it isn't worth rejecting the car, but I want reasonable compensation but they are being difficult. Will dig my heels in more and apply pressure to carleasing to refund my money, and to affinity leasing. to anyone considering affinity I would try someone else, they are like teflon and hung up on me when I said the law would suggest they have to resolve it.
  8. The car is a pcp through affinity leasing who sourced the car from vw in Wales. I ordered in October time and waited for the car to be built and then delivered which was last week, which aside from a few weeks was the earliest available delivery date. i wasn't allowed to collect, I had to accept delivery so paragon, or now known as BCA were paid by the dealership to deliver the car, 195 miles were sadly added on to the clock. This is all their dirt, not mine and is how I was expected to take the car. that is how the car turned up and, the guy said usually they clean them but he didn't get round to it. Affinity leasing have commented today it was my fault not checking the car no matter how dirty it was, so they are being stupid as it is clear you can't spot anything. I think it it is disgusting but they just say sorry. i offered to accept touching in the bonnet with a stick and then the cost of the first service but they don't seem too keen as they would have to pay a dealership in the midlands for the service. It it is so refreshing to hear the comments as I started to think I was being unreasonable.
  9. Thanks for all the feedback so far. the chips aren't too big, but still present and just need fixing without them thinking I should just get in with it. It isn't dented, just typical chips. The dealership had said the car should have been cleaned before delivery and they are unsure why it didn't happen. the first photo is a picture of the car as it was delivered to me. Pretty dirty sadly. This photo shows the chips from afar, you can see the black dot in the middle. This photo shows the two stone chips from about a meter away form the car Finally a photo of what it looks like all clean. Thaks is for all the responses, much appreciated
  10. Hi I have been reading a long time and has been a great help when deciding to buy my R. I took delivery a week ago on a 5dr, white DSG, and the car was filthy, and far from a white car it was impossible to check so agreed to wash it and then check and feedback. After washing the dirty car had masked two stone chips on the bonnet. They accept they were caused by the delivery company and offered to pay for a smart repair. Chips away say they can only get them 50% better and it needs a respray to properly fix which they can't do. The supplying dealer don't want to respray it and think I should accept a brand new car with the chips at 50% nettter, though noticeable. Also under some rules it would be classed as wear and tear anyway so what's my problem. Would anyone else accept this situation? I want some compensation if I accept the car stays with the chips filled as best Chipsaway can, or a full respray of the bonnet but they refuse. It is complicated as affinity leasing who are useless tell me to speak to the supplying dealer who I didn't know of or heard off until a few days ago or carleasing as it is their problem, yet they took the deposit, carleasing tell me it's the finance company problem. All in all doing my head in. Great car, love it but disappointed because it should be in some sort of showroom condition. Ideally I want it sprayed but happy to look the other way if I could cover the first service for instance Any thoughts?
