  1. A pair of idiots, one talking shiit, both driving like cnuts
  2. Depending on my mood https://imgshare.io/image/GaZye
  3. My mate tossed me the keys to his M140i a few weeks back as I mentioned I was considering buying one. Impressions are as follows, Great engine, smoother and more musclar than the Golf R. Less unwanted vibration and noises and a notch up it terms of build. Interior felt bland, but more solid than the Golf, more sound deadening with more refinement overall Chassis felt stiff, front and rear. Rear Traction was poor, no more than half throttle with any sort of steering lock on, with no steering angle and full throttle the rear tyres are overwhelmined within a few seconds, in dry, but chilly conditions. I'd like to run one over a few summer months, then switch to the golf the other 10 months of the year ๐Ÿ˜‚ On the right road and conditions I prefer the BMW, but 90% of the time I'd take the Golf. I absolutely annihilated him in the Golf when he trying to follow me over roads he knew and I didn't
  4. He's a boring bastard, he could talk a glass eye to sleep. Episode 121? If you're having trouble sleeping watch the proceeding 120 episodes
  5. Ghost is a good option I think it's wrong to assume they would come back and demand the keys. Most are the sneak in type and don't want to get involved in the owner.
  6. Excuses my lack of mod experience What are these?
  7. It's not normal behavior. In order I'd check, (assuming you're happy with the tyres) 1.Alignment, while it's on the ramp get the mechanic to check the bushes, suspension parts and wheels for damage. 2. Crash damage I suspect a full alignment will sort your problems out
  8. This post is even worse than the first one......... ๐Ÿ˜ด
  9. God, what miserable reply Would you say the say the same if he'd bought a new Golf R? No one needs to spend more than 5k on a car really, but we do because we are car nuts and purchases like these are decisions of the heart not the head OP, enjoy your car and please post your thoughts and comparisons
  10. Just claim on the insurance, it will work out cheaper anyway.
  11. White spirit removes tar brilliantly Just make sure you wash it off properly with loads of water
  12. Well whatever it is, it's a pain. Normal turns in the car park, turn into 3 point turns usually. You do get used to it, but it catches me out sometimes
  13. Why did "Joe 90" think his Golf R was going to win and looked shocked when the Audi won, its basically the same car and was always going to be very close either way His face was priceless
  14. Mmm... Yes mine are oem. Think the distance may be a problem? What tyres you running? Mine and PS4 S front and Bridgestone rears
  15. I have a set of silver prets, Where abouts in the country are you? I'm in Yorkshire
  16. Depends on the age of the car If it's got 30k on it and only been serviced by Hellfords I'd run a mile. However if it's 70k and had a couple of specialist and main dealer I would not be concerned My experience of main dealers is pretty poor tbh, my BMW came back with a scratch on it and trim not refitted correctly. VW recently wanted ยฃ235 for just an oil service. My friendly mechanic {who trust) charge me 65 and I bought the oil
  17. Looking forward to reading the review
  18. That's another thing you've reminded me about, the pedal position isn't the best for heal and toe rev matching. My wife calls me 'boat feet' (so not small) and I just about heal and toe in Golf. There too far apart for it to feel natural. Jumping back into the Porsche and whole setup is what a proper manual should feel and act like. I know you shouldn't compare two, totally different cars but it really highlights the manual gearbox in the Golf as basic hatch with something good bits added to the mix. On a brighter note, me and a 718 GTS boxster both joined the motorway together, me following. He tried to pull away. The gap reminded constant... He add no extra performance over the Lightly tuned R
  19. Think you are better with the DSG. I have the manual, the gearbox feels something from a old Peugeot. Long throw and not particular sporty, plus the clutch is poor
  20. Or just say you sprayed them with deodorant instead...
  21. So you have a home invasion plan ๐Ÿ˜
  22. That's the point, mines a daliy too. ๐Ÿ‘ I love the way its still entirely usable, no compromises, the ride and composure is just the same. Its just sharper. If I was considering coil overs it would be the Bilstein B12 kit. Its a matched spring and damper kit which rides well and is fit and forget. Drops the car about 30mm, but isn't silly low either. I've used the kit before on an M3 and was really impressed Is there much difference in road noise with the cup 2's, its quite a hard tyre, but dropping down from 19 prets to 18's will make quite a difference?
