  1. Yeah, I did search, mine is after Eibach, the shocks are brand new and no noise whatsoever with stock springs, it's somewhat a known issue with some lowering springs, just wonder if anyone experienced the same AFTER lowing and fix...
  2. Guys, need help here.. I'm currently battling with low speed or standing still creaking when turning the steering wheel after Eibach Pro Kit... Was on ST XTA coilovers for a while and really couldn't stand all the noise etc, so went with OEM RS3 suspensions, everything's perfect except the ride height, fitted Eibach and now the infamous lowering springs creaking.. Any of you encounter any low speed creaking after lowering? I even replaced the strut mount and bearing, same... Just trying to see if there's any fix as I really really like the setup right now except for the creaking which making me wanting to go back to RS3 springs... Thanks!
  3. Hey Rob, I was thinking about getting it but worrying about the possibilities of the PCB getting overheat, have you swapped it? Any issue?
  4. For me, my first VAG (S3).. Coming from BMW, Merc, the level of customization on MQB is just unreal, VCDS, OEM retrofit, it's basically Lego for adults! And it's just sooooo easy to tear the car apart and put it back together without a trace, can't say the same for Merc or BMW. With a platform so easy to work with, the mod bugs just kept coming back biting... But I'm keeping the entire car stock look, all the power and drivetrain mods are subtle and unnoticeable in my case, again, it's like my grown up Lego :)
  5. Am really interested too, any noticeable NVH with the bushings? I'm especially worried about the possibility of squeaking..
  6. If you're worried about removing the snow grate, then you'd go nuts with any aftermarket intake LOL Removed it months ago, been through many heavy raining days since and not a single drop of water inside the airbox.
  7. Another vote for CSS discs and pads, I was gonna go with Brembo HP2000 pads but they took forever to deliver so ended up with CSS pads too, really happy with them plus stainless hose setup so far.
  8. Anyone has any experience with downpipe that uses HJS cat? i.e. Bull-X, Milltek, MTM etc etc... I just received the HJS ECE 200 cell cat downpipe today, and almost the same time, a friend sent me pic of his Milltek HJS broken cat!!!! He said he has no idea how it happened and it only has less than 10K km on it, just wondering everyone else's experience with HJS cat? Aren't they supposed to be OE supplier and one of the best cat supplier? Really worried about the longevity of the HJS cat now... He said it's still working fine, no smell, no CEL, but he's stage 2 so that doesn't say much... Think his cat needs to be replaced? HJS Downpipe... Friend's Milltek HJS....
  9. I've had quite a bit of problem with the VWR double ring version, one of the o-ring ripped during install and had to try a lot of different sizes replacement to get it to even fit, no idea why they'd choose to go with 2 O-rings design at all. Finally decided to sell it for an APR version, which is casted and tapered for supposedly better flow. But TBH, this pipe is so short it doesn't really might any difference whichever version you go with.
  10. I made my own wiring adapter, but you can always unpin he pins, wrap then with heat shrink tubes and plug them directly in taillight connector and apply some hot melt to secure them if you want to go super cheap... Here's my write up for the S3 conversion, not sure how different they are but I guess to get an idea? http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/pfl-to-fl-dynamic-taillights-conversion-guide.331293/
  11. You don't need any adapter nor coding, it's nothing more than an expensive capacitor... Just go by ElsaWin's wiring diagram and then hook up the 4 extra wires to a constant power in the fuse box and you're all set. I can't help with the exact details since I've done this on S3 not 7R...
  12. I'm in manufacturing and involved with R&D myself, to be honest, with CAD and 3D printing nowadays, typical R&D lead time and overheads are cut in at least half... And there's certainly nothing artistic about what's out there for 7R/S3 exhaust besides maybe the upcoming APR and Akrapovic IMO... I honestly failed to see any design or premium value at majority of them and that's why I have no desire whatsoever for an exhaust. I don't mind spending 1.5K on Euro 6 cat downpipe, at least I know I'm getting the power and certificate that I paid for, but 2k exhaust? No thanks... You might as well going to custom one and possibly get better quality.
  13. Not really, carbon fiber itself can stand up to 850C+ it's the resin that's the problem, aerospace grade epoxy can withstand much higher temp. and a typical catback isn't really that hot. And there're carbon fiber exhaust for bikes already so it's just matter of time?
  14. Part of the reason it being so expensive is because it's titanium, with titanium costing roughly 7 times the price of 304 steel... Not that it really matters with so little titanium being used but it's a big deal for marketing. It's all about marketing, just like carbon fiber wheels... Wouldn't be surprised to see full carbon fiber exhaust being offered soon too LOL
  15. The general rule of thumb is 1 step colder for every 70bhp increase, so at stage 2, yeah, the OEM plug has to go... Most tuner recommend IKH24 a while back, but I think all going with RS7 OEM plugs now. But it might very well be hot weather timing pull...
