Been over a week since the Haldex service and car is definitely ‘pushing’ harder from the rear so well worth doing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  2. Same car similar photo - I think black looks ‘meaner’ and ties in better with the black trim on the car. Harder to keep clean though.

Sounds like a plan mate [emoji106] Both were absolutely fine in reverse can’t say I noticed anything untoward. I had the 034 on my S3 and that was fine but with exhaust valves coded open I found that a bit too much so coded them closed again I guess it just hit the vibration/frequency sweet spot and echoed into the cabin. What did you do to your R today?

First hand wash for some time just been doing jet wash and snow foam every other week but it was proper minging so spent a couple of hours on it. Needs a good DA polish when the better weather is here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

LoL must be and of course noise is very subjective bad noise to one is good noise to another 👍

Reduced engine/transmission movement so crisper gear shifts and less engine hop (especially FWD) so gets the power down sooner. Negatives can be a little more transmitted noise into the cabin with metal inserts. Polyurethane inserts isolate any transmission of noise but will wear over time. If stage 2 or 3 I’d definitely go metal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Another switcheroo, I found the APR insert to add vibration and noise between 800-1,200 rpm it was more noticeable on a cold start . I doubt you would notice it at all with a res delete or aftermarket exhaust but it was enough for me to look at something else. Only fitted yesterday but this moulded polyurethane part by Powerflex fills the voids in the factory bushing and being non metallic doesn’t transmit any vibrations or noise through the chassis. Very pleased with it .....

Pretty much yes it was best fit as the bolts I got from Awesome were 35mm front and 40mm rear, not sure what make but they're decent enough quality. Make sure you go radius seat bolts for OEM prets.

You’re welcome . After a bit of juggling I’m now running 8mm front and 10mm rear so will be sticking with that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Really great to hear that you have enjoyed it and found it useful 👍 Original bolts are 27mm long so I’m using 34,5mm up front and 41mm rear (bit longer just in case I went to a 15mm spacer at any point). Lockers wise I have McGard black locking bolts radius seat part number 28032SUB front and 28025SUB rear. Some may say a bit of a pain carrying round 2 locking keys but that is my attention to detail OCD kicking in 😂

Yes - between showers Friday afternoon. 1 hour for the Haldex and 5 mins for the dog bone insert. I got lucky and the engine didn’t move, fitted the 034 version to my S3 which moved after removing the bolt and it was an absolute PITA to put back in you have to get a pal to hold the back of the engine and pull forward to get the bolt to align.

Have to say that the car was a beast this morning - a very noticeable stronger push from the rear wheels Haldex service is highly recommended! As for the dog bone insert gear changes felt slicker and the car a lot more ‘composed’ going over speed bumps and uneven road surfaces - this came at the expense of slight vibration on cold start.

    MRC Stage 1

Epic number 💪 How are you finding it a few months later any issues at all !
  14. Great thread but couple of extra points I picked up along the way :- 1. Undo the fill plug first - if you drain the oil but can’t then fill it you’re in a spot of bother. 2. If you can’t unplug the pump connector to the ECU just undo the two bolts holding on the ECU then it’s far easier. 3. When refilling add the 600ml or so until it runs out of fill hole, refit plug just a couple of threads and then run the car for a minute. This will prime the pump. Now remove fil plug and add more oil until it runs out - this will maybe be an extra 50-100ml.

Mod 41 (I think !!) :- Fitted the APR dog bone mount / lower pendulum mount insert to eliminate some engine rock ..... Went for this over the more established 034 one as this is made of stainless steel rather than aluminium so less likely to bend as much.
