    ROB2k68 Lapiz R Collection & Build thread

Thanks for the kind words Hmmm very good question ........ I've done things to the R based on lessons learned from the S3 so it now edges that car on steering and handling and with the JB4 it's VERY close to the stage 2 Revo at a fraction of the cost. Seats on the R are also more supportive than the standard seats I had in the S3. Go for the supersport seats in the S3 if you want that extra bit of theatre and luxury. Styling wise I think the Golf looks more modern. On the surface the build quality looks very good, only slightly below that of the Audi but once you dig deeper you can see some strange idiosyncrasy's between the brands despite being the same company. My S3 was pre facelift so I'm enjoying the digital dash but the execution of the Audi virtual cockpit that I've seen is super slick, nice and bright and very colourful. It's easy to miss simple things in the S3 like the rotary dials on the steering - so much better than buttons. In six months you'll be close to the new versions I guess - worth holding out for the new platform car now that Mercedes have shown their cards with the new A class and A35 particularly. Not sure what my next move will be but getting withdrawal symptons for not having tinkered for a while

    APR additions.

Sounds great ! Looks very similar to the 034 Motorsport item I fitted to my S3 with good results.

12,000 miles in the eleven months that I've had it, it seems to have really loosened up after passing 10,000 and definitely more in the way of exhaust notes.

Holy sh!t not been on for a while so just seen this. Really sorry to see this Dave car was coming together really well with the pride and effort you were putting into it. Glad you're ok though buddy that's the main thing. Dashcam footage will prevail.

Is there a switch on and off remap

Not really. sounds like a tuning box will best suit your needs, have you considered a JB4?

    Turbo inlet hose and elbiw

It’s very good, well proven, probably cheaper than buying the elbow and hose separately and has one less joint for smooth air flow . Cheapest I’ve seen it is at VRS Northampton so check their website out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Oil spray/dirt around PCV hose

Anyone changing theirs removal can be quite tricky, ECS tuning do an oil catch can if you download the instructions for this is has some great pics showing you where the clips are that you need to ping out to release the cover. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Oil spray/dirt around PCV hose

Oops sorry , yes was just the hose and cover as per your first link. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Oil spray/dirt around PCV hose

Yes that’s right, worked a treat and solved the oil leak. The end 90 degree connector needs to rotate slightly to align with different turbo inlets and each time you twist/rotate it the joint works loose Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Oil spray/dirt around PCV hose

No worries , I replaced the unit and hose think it was £53 or thereabouts. The hose looks to be shrunk wrapped to the valve so not sure you can get it on it’s own. The only symptom was an oil leak the car ran and idled fine. Pretty straight forward took half hour max. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

How much fluid for a brake flush?

Yeah 1 litre will do you [emoji106] Reservoir capacity is a fair bit less so I just flushed 250ml from each corner when I did mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Clubsport brakes.

Yes straight fit and yes 2 piece construction with alloy bells. 1.1kg weight saving per side I believe. I paid £450 ish for pads and discs. There is no such thing as club sport rears though they are standard discs and pads

Mk7.5 wing mirror door bolt covers

I looked into this some time back...... VW not only removed the covers but also the holes in the doors that the cover clips go into so unless you use glue or double sided tape then it’s not as easy as you think.
