Only turn it off when maneuvering back and forward in to position the car in the drive for cleaning and when I don't want the handbrake to come on after removing the ignition key.

I just let Auto hold do its job on hills, never had a problem, only time I turn it off if I am manoeuvring slowly up really close to something or if I don't want the hand brake come on when removing the key.

I can definitely say, since the last update no problems at all with VW maps.
Did a trip to Cornwall which I did before the last update and it worked a treat.

I think your problem of getting a good will off VW will be down to not having the 40000 service done at dealer, even though genuine parts are used. That's how most manufacturers view brand loyalty.

Don't let it stop you trying though.

One of my work colleagues died today while at work at the age of just 36 ,
He was married with 3 young children and will be sorely missed. Life just isn't fair is it. 😪

    Glad you sorted.

Sometimes SD cards corrupt if connection is lost or unplugged from PC etc. Still readable by some devices but need error checking for others.

There is usually an option to disconnect the card but most of us don't use it, me included.

Not true on my 7.5. If I use individual and set engine sound to race the valves open regardless of DSG mode.

Did mine using those instructions at the weekend after finding VW had taken down the German sammlung poi website.
    Worked a treat!

Not had a great experience using Car Net to update Pocket GPS speed camera files on the Nav. I found a post on the Seat Cupra site that uses  a different tool called POInspect0r that not only transfers the files well via SD card, but also allows for the 'warble' sound when approaching the cameras.

Hope its ok to post the link?? https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/uploading-speed-camera-pois-tail-of-woe-vw-pulled-the-update-site-again.444799/page-2

Worked fine for me, just thought I would share the info and hopefully help somebody else.

    Yep gear box in D.

I tend to leave in race now mind you and use the DSG in D, it seems to give a better throttle response and still get the valves open.

Go to the VW web site,
    https://webspecial.volkswagen.de/vwinfotainment/int/en/index/downloads/maps-download#/
Follow the links for your model.
I always download the zip file to pc and extract it on there, then copy the files over to your existing SD card. Don't forget to back up the current files though.

I tried it for a few days on my DSG 7.5. It does seem to improve it. Did not notice any side effects but did not go for any spirited drives.

I find selecting Race and putting the box in D gives an improved response for normal driving, at least the same if not better than the mod.

Hopefully with this update my car will stop telling me to leave at the first junction when getting on a motorway or dual carriageway only to get straight back on.

Yes you are correct there is a maximum speed as well, the minimum lets you edge up to something with out it kicking in.

I'm one that avoids claying. I do the tar with TARDIS then fallout with purple rain. As I see it, the least contact that happens to the paint the better. This is on a car from new.

Not true, a lot of house insurance companies do have an option for mortgaged. Legal and General for one, I had to notify them when I paid off my mortgage (last week) because on the policy documents it was listed as owner, occupier - mortgaged.
