  2. Sounds to me buying the new one might be the better option then. Is it as simple as disconnect old battery, connect new one, code the battery? Is there anything else that needs doing as a result of disconnecting the old battery in the car like the old radio codes (no idea if still a thing given they are more integrated nowadays)? Does it retain all your other settings in the car menu of the infotainment system? Thanks again
  3. Currently running a sebang EFB battery which died whilst I was on holiday after about 10 days. Jump starting and a 20 miles drive doesn't seem to get it charged enough as still showing 11.8 volts on the VW go app after the drive. Does anyone know the correct procedure for fully charging i.e. is there a special charger required or would an old one work fine as have read conflicting information. Also what's the correct procedure for it i.e. can it be charged whilst attached to the car? Secondly, if it turns out the battery needs replacing I've been looking at getting a varta E39. I know this needs coding which I can do using obdeleven but a guide as to what details need adjusting would be really helpful. Is there anything else that I need to be aware of e.g. is there anything else that would need doing after like inputting radio codes or recalibrating any of the electrics?   4. Ah that explains, cheers for that, Tayna was the cheapest i'd found. Might just go with their Varta, as understand these are the same as the Bosch. That must mean mine wasn't at full charge (as don't have a charger) or it's dodgier than yours
  5. Hi mate, where did you end up picking this battery up from? Price seems better than anything I've seen online. Anyone know how long an EFB battery should typically last unused? I was away recently and needed jump starting after 10 days..

I did try a few straws taped together through the cornering bulb hole but there is only a few mm gap between the silver trim above the indicator strip and the front of the headlight unit so its really hard getting it close enough for there to be enough suction with a vacuum cleaner. I think i could move it with compressed air, just not sure how i'd get it out with that though. stumped for now..

  14. anyone know if there are any additional steps to reverse this mod? tried it but not a fan and have tried changing active to what it was previously (not active) but doesn't seem to work even though it says it was successful.
