Thanks to everyone for your responses. Lots of good stuff. Sadly I think I misjudged the cost of a pcp for this. Cheapest carwow quote got the price to £31800 but with a £2k deposit thats still roughly £450pm which is way more than I pay currently - so its maybe a purchase to pause on for a while. Sad as I think Id made up my mind to give it a go but I'd forgotten that car prices tend to go up!

Thanks. My current M135 has the Harmon Kardon but its decent without being outstanding. I would need to keep the options light but really fancy a sunroof for a change. Stillnot 100% certain that I'll go for the R, but I'm on my second M135 and despite the fact that I love it, it feels like time for a change. The only other option is a Giulia Veloce. Drove my first Golf R today and was impressed with it, but is the grass greener? I've no idea. Gulp!

So I'm mulling over replacing my M135 with a golf R. A few questions around spec: At the moment my spec would be a 5 dr, sunroof, 90% tints. - hard to tell from some pics but as standard I'm right in saying that the rear windows are tinted more than the front and thats what the 65% refers to? - how is the standard sound system? - how is the standard nav? - any issues with the standard passive suspension? Test driving a white 2017 5dr R dsg. Will be interested to see how it compares to my M135.

And could you give me an idea what that works out in terms of monthlies? If not its no problem, I'm just trying to get an idea.

Hi, New member considering a Mk 7.5 R dsg. I've had a look about but struggling to find too much in terms of good deals. Has anyone placed an order recently that could give me an idea of the deals they have got based on a deposit of 2k. It would just help give me an idea of whats possible. I'd be looking for a pretty basic dsg hatch with metallic, pretorias and tinted windows.
