  1. Yup go with the APR tune. I'm a stage 2 high torque 93 octane tune on my 2018 DSG Golf R. I've hurt so many feelings it's funny actually. Took down Trackhawks, Hellcats, stock R8v10's, every SRT they make, etc. It's worth it IMO I'm almost to the point of stage 3 now. But hey your call, I had the same identical issue until I tuned it. Hills are fun now like flat land was before [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  2. Over time the race cats can and will clog up due to the excessive fuel build up in the cat from fuel being dumped in for the crackles and pops and bangs. Now if you have a catless downpipe then you don't have to ever worry. It's a given that all cats will eventually go bad and clog up if your popping and banging if your not catless. When this happens will determine how often you crackle and pop your exhaust. I have the crackle tune on my 2018 APR Stage 2 DSG Golf R and I plan on taking it off after another year. Since I'm keeping the APR downpipe and car for a while and putting on an exhaust system I won't need the crackle because I'm not going catless and messing with the smelly exhaust and CEL lights. It's more or less a novelty type of sound fun factor with long term consequences if your not using a catless DP. Your catted downpipe will clog with charcoal grill looking type of burnt fuel deposits. Hope this helps [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  3. I would be willing to spend that on another car that was faster and had more bells and whistles. I did spend 50k after all said and done with my Golf R though. I purchased the additional wheel and tire warranty, I purchased the additional interior warranty, and I purchased the additional paint warranty, I also purchased the 3M Platinum paint protection film package for my car as well. Now add on the price of the Stage 1 and stage 2 APR modifications like, tune, downpipe, midpipe, carbon fiber intake and carbon fiber turbo inlet pipe, aftermarket HAWK HPS pads, slotted and vented cryo rotors, USP Motorsports aluminum DSG paddle shifter extenders, RS3 coil packs, NGK race plugs, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, back brake pad and rotor upgrade, APR aftermarket FMIC, and hopefully TCU DSG transmission tune and now my Golf R costs more than $51,000 USD. 4. I see were your coming from. But I was able to financially afford it so that is why I pulled the trigger on one. I live in Minnesota here in the USA and my sticker window price was $42,055. This was my very first brand new car with no miles on it. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  5. Well if you took a ride and test drive in a full Stage 2+ DSG Golf R like my 2018 DSG Golf R for example and looked into the engineering behind it and realized it comes with forged internals and does 0-60mph in the low 3 second range and still is able to get groceries, get good gas mileage, 5 star safety crash ratings, and about to drive safely in the winter, and be an all around perfect daily driver that you can still track on the weekends then I think you would justify it. Especially if you had the money to afford it [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

  9. Can someone please tell me what LED lights my 2018 DSG Golf R use and I'm curious what would be a better replacement. Thank you Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

  11. Frozen slotted and vented cryo rotors and hawk HPS Street pads. Hmmmmm that's a possibility [emoji4] Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  12. My driver side window auto up/down module has just started acting up, intermittently works 95 percent of the time still.... Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  13. Ever since I had my brake rotors and front pads upgraded I have been hearing a metal type clunking noise coming from my front left brake caliper whenever I go over bumps or man hole covers or large cracks in the road. It sounds like it's coming from the front left brake caliper. Any ideas why this is? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
