Thanks guys was hoping to lift bottle out and replace but seems a lot more complex reconnecting everything. Think will stick to filling up to 3/4 and just refill more often until it gets worse!

Had a service and VW said I had a leak with screen wash bottle. It only leaks when over 3/4 full and after trawling the net it appears the bottle is in 2 pieces and this could be the cause. I can see the reservoir and one bolt that looks like it’s holding it in but am rubbish at all things mechanical so wondered has anyone taken theirs apart/out? VW wanted around £400 for a new bottle to be fitted which seems extortionate! Any help greatly appreciated!

Mine started wheel spinning after id had it for about 6 months and car was 3 yrs old. Went to VW dealer who found my haldex pump was broken. Fixed under warranty but showed costs as £950. Ive got cheapish Generali tyres and getting no wheelspin at all in dry and almost none in the wet 😁

A 1990 Sierra 1.6 lx 🤬 Got done over by a dodgy garage and had bought Orion Ghia I but it had been in a shunt and should have been scrapped!! My warning light came on so drove like a granny. Undid the cap and a popping noise and coolant went from just below min to about halfway. My Das Welt runs out in 1 week so fingers crossed it either is air pocket or if leak does it in next day or 2. Im going to give her a booting tomorrow just to check if light comes back on or not. 😁

Overtaking a m240 on a dual carriageway doing 75mph with accelerator buried as Audi TT glued to my bumper when bmw decides to gun it just as im slightly infront. Hugely immature but boy did I grin when Audi became a mere dot and Bmw man couldnt reel me in like he thought and i was steadily increasing the gap. He gave up and at this point! He may have a faster car but if someone gets the jump on you then catching them is very difficult. Especially if its someone in a R 😁

Pulsar Kinetic. Was a 30th birthday present and has never been serviced and still going strong 14yrs later. Its plain and not too shouty like the R which is why i like it!

I used to think my friends Lotus Carlton back in about 1995. Having looked at the performance it seems nothing between the Carlton and a Golf R either 0-60 or quarter mile times. Crazy considering it was a 3600cc twin turbo monster! Top speed shows as 180mph but out of respect held back once hit 130mph as seemed terrifying in that big old bus of a car 😭

A Rover Maestro shudder!! Learned in a Rover Metro and instructor changed car 2 weeks before my test. It felt a huge car at the time lol

I've had my R for 10 months and try hard to keep her in good condition. Last night on way home an ambulance is hooning down the middle of the road and im stopped as far left as i can get. As he goes past the grit/stones get thrown up and im bombarded with the shrapnel. Then this morning some $#% wit in a Range Rover over takes me, cuts across the chevrons on slip road whilst cutting me up and spraying my car with grit. Fair enough with the ambulance but as for the #$%@er in the Range he would have needed his own ambulance had he not got off at next junction. A few nasty stone chips on bonnet and bumper. It hurts more as car was immaculate as of 2 days ago 🤬 What kind of cost would a respray bonnet and bumper be? Are Chips Away/Scratch/Dent type mobile repairs any good? VW paint does seem uber thin!!

Pure madness as most pics will strategically hide defects and you also dont know what its like until driven it. I guess a lot of people dont put as much time and thought into buying cars as a lot of us on here do?

43.7mpg averaged on a 17 mile commute is my best. 2-3 miles B roads then 63mph set on ACC through the active scameras on mway. Absolutely incredible car for economy considering the 300 rampaging horses and 4wd. Past 1000 miles ive averaged 30mpg and 30mph as a lot of time can get stuck in traffic. A few quick launches just to test my Haldex was repaired and a few blasts up to 140mph when having a play. What a $##€ing beast the R is!!! ❤

i bought mine August last year 15 plate with 15k miles for £20k plus my 56 plate diesel Avensis T180. Screen price was £21,350 and £600 px so got £700 ish off. At around £19k I would try £1k below screen price but depends on the mark up as previously mentioned. Despite low miles I still had to have Haldex pump replaced under warranty so definitely go VW Das Welt for that kind of money.

Thanks for the info. Luckily covered under Das Welt warranty 😁 I had a haldex service at an indy and the gunk was unbelievable. I cant believe VW dont think cleaning the filter is necessary! I bet it was blocked got starved of oil and failed?

hmm like getting blood from a stone trying to find what they did! Invoice shows 1 of each: V0CQ 598 549 VG 060 175A2 VN 910 827 01 VN 902 818 02 With 3.5 hrs labour £828. Customer services couldnt tell me what the parts are other than "to repair rear diff" and all mechanics were busy. Anyone got an idea what these may be? Ive done a couple of launches and no wheel spin at all just a very brief traction control light and then gone👍

How does it compare with the M2?
