  1. I'd sooner believe an article in The Express.
  2. I had one of those previously, I agree the handling was poor even though it was "tuned by Lotus", but the T8 with it's Eibach & Bilstein setup + the mods I done, make it stick to the road like glue. The pic below is of my previous Astra Coupe Turbo (I put the GSI bumper on it with the Irmscher grille).
  3. My other car, which I have owned for over 13 years, is a Vauxhall Astra Coupe T8. Number 54 of 100 produced. It has a 2.0 16v Turbo engine which originally produced 189bhp but at the last rolling road, produced 338bhp & 370lb/ft torque. As standard the car came with Eibach springs & Bilstein dampers, O.Z. superturismo 17" tyres with 235/40/17 tyres, Sparco alcantara clad bucket seats, short throw lever, Milltek backbox, RamAir panel filter & a full BTCC wide arch replica bodykit. I upgraded it to have a Stage 5 high torque map, hybrid VXR turbo, uprated Cosworth actuator, Pace FMIC, turbo-back Milltek exhaust, BMC CDA induction kit, Helix clutch, lightened flywheel, full retrimmed blue alcantara interior, updated adjustable anti-roll bars and many many more mods. I'll never sell her. Here are some recent photos. Thanks.
  4. No chance, living in a dream world if you think VW will roll out an R with 400bhp (Unless its a limited run special edition). mk4 'R'32 - 237bhp mk5 'R'32 - 246bhp mk6 'R' - 266bhp mk7 'R - 295 mk7.5 'R' - 295/306 mk8 'R' - 400, really? a 100bhp jump from the current car, when over the last 17 years we've gone up from 237 to 310 and back to 300.

  6. Welcome to the forum. I've watched the ToB for the past few years when it's been local enough to go & see. I prefer riding than watching though, it's all over a bit too quick when watching. Had a few good photos over the years though and being followed by a few teams that were warming up was fun too.
  7. https://www.topgear.com/car-news/geneva-motor-show/revealed-future-volkswagen-golf-r Quote - And what of the Golf R400 concept, which has still yet to make production? “We did research and customers don’t want it. They want around 300 horsepower and a price tag below €50,000. To move up to 400 horsepower you lose 50 per cent of the sales volume and increase the cost of ownership.” I think it'll be an incremental increase again, more likely 320-330bhp.
  8. I've rode Hartside a number of times, not done the actual hill climb event. Great Dunn Fell is a nice climb in that area too, all the way to the radar dome. Failed to get in the Fred Whitton Challenge again this year but might make it via the reserve list, great route to hit pretty much all the climbs in one go. Not easy though, especially when going for a time.
  9. Hey, I'm new here and do a fair amount of road & time trialling. Here are my bikes. Cannondale Supersix Evo Red22 - Top of Honister Pass. Dolan Preffisio 105 - Winter bike Cannondale Slice Hi-Mod Dura-Ace Di2 I need new wheels for the Slice, just weighing up which to get before the new season starts.

    Hello Everyone

Thanks for the warm welcome & nice comments. I love the DSG box and the AWD system comes in handy when it snows like yesterday! :-) My previous car struggled putting it's power down, so it's a very different feeling when it grips & goes instead of scrabbling for grip for the first 30 or so mph.
