TCR better than R according to Volkswizzard! Thoughts.
mwp6762 replied to Msportman's topic in VW Golf R MK7 Chat
Yes I can see that point. I came from a de restricted Edition 30 to an R32 and to to the weight the R32 was like an old heavyweight huffing and puffing, so I understand the extra weight of the R but still the TCR will still suffer in performance. IMHO Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Totally agree How anyone can claim a front wheel drive car is better than 4 wheel drive for public road driving is frankly beyond my thinking capacity That train of thought is on another stratisfear for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I just seen this as well. What a load of drivel. I have an R and my neighbor coincidentally has that exact spec TCR. The R is the better car. End of. The TCR looks better and it’s a GTi. End of. The TCR has the looks and the GTi heritage but it will always be a lesser car in performance. End of Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I’m even luckier. All A & B roads for me. I know a 57 yr old lives by me and he has never seen a motorway in the flesh. In West Cumbria [emoji7][emoji108][emoji964][emoji964][emoji965], happy days [emoji106] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Small bit of advice if it is your thing. Keep wiping your exhaust tips. Can save a lot of polishing in the future [emoji3059] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Sorry if I have missed a point here, but is the reference VWR springs the actual factory springs the car. Just that when I had my Mk4 Golf VW actually sold a specific lowing spring that my VW dealer fitted.

Great post, I am in exactly the same position. Was thinking of 20”s to fill the arches but I think you’re thinking is way better for future ride comfort [emoji106] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Ahh that’s the exact wheel I was eyeing up. I think it looks fantastic. [emoji106][emoji108] Currently I am running 19” CH’s with 235/35 tyres. They are the exact spec and offset as the factory spec’d 19” VW Prets. I have spoken to the dealer and I would have to go to a 30 profile on a 20”. Looks great I think but ride as advised would be compromised. To add to that I live in Cumbria and our road surfaces not the smoothest. [emoji17] Plenty to think about, many thanks for your pictures and advice, very much appreciated. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
