  1. Im over a month out of warranty now and VW basically told me tough luck so I took it to my normal independant garage who sorted it.
  2. Just an update on this incase anyone has similar issues in future, the issue wasnt the switch afterall I had a short circuit somewhere on the wiring loom which was casuing the fault. Hopefully this is a one off and no other electrical gremlims creep up over the next few months deffinately not what I expect on a relativley new car but its just one of those things I suppose.
  3. Yeah the cars kept clean as I have a works van. It has an easy life and as you say with low miles I was surprised something like that has failed. New ones ordered now anyways. As for extended warranty i'm going down the stage 1 route so I dont think i'll get the benefit.
  4. Called the VW garage this morning where I bought the car from and basically told tough luck as the 67's dont fall under warranty extension. Was worth a try I suppose.
  5. Hi all after a bit of advice. Ive searched on the forum but cant find anyones posts with the same issue. My cars a facelift (67) and only done around 8k miles. Been completely trouble free until the weekend when I got the electronic parking brake fault flashing on the dash whilst on the motorway. I've had it looked at by my mechanic and im just waiting on him getting back to me. The code he has read is saying it is the switch for the handbrake. Has anyone else had similar issues? As I said I cant find any posts about the same issues as the others were the motors causing the fault. Typically my warranty ran out about a month ago!
  6. Im looking at getting the R600 along with the intake hose, muffler delete and turbo elbow in the next few weeks. Ive been offered one of these almost brand new via a friend who no longer needs it and im just unsure if this is basically the same as the intake hose and elbow from the r600 kit combined? Thanks in advance. https://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/MQB_Chassis_High_Flow_Inlet_Hose_Colour_Black_Hoses--product--1580.html&colour=black%2Bhoses?gclid=CjwKCAjwsO_4BRBBEiwAyagRTdEw0SaeDALfGIwT0nv0-s0ZzeLF2Fx_DOVIEaQ5yqx1ZoHRLVxiPhoCBjsQAvD_BwE
  7. Thanks for the replies! I think basically what im after is something on par with my old car power and torque wise. I know the golf is way more refined due to being 15 years newer however I think the linear/smooth power delivery doesnt feel as fun as an old JDM car. My concern was that I would be effectvley spending more going from stage 1 to stage 2 rather than just making the jump.
  8. Hi all. Ive had my car around 6 months now and modding it was always on the cards. Still have a few months of warranty left but ive done a few bits and pieces so far wheels, lowering, exhaust, splitter etc. Looking to get it mapped along with some breathing mods in the next few months. My question is basically is it worth skipping stage 1 and just go straight for stage 2 software along with downpipe and intercooler? Not sure if I would be saving anything in the long run going this route. Any input and advice appreciated!
  9. Are you still running the standard downpipe or have you sports/decated? Reason I ask is when the warrantys up I was hoping to go stage 2. I wasnt sure how raspy it would get once thats fitted aswell as a cat back.
  10. Would be great see a video once its installed! Im pretty new to vw's so coming into mods for them a bit blind. My other car has 3" turbo back exhaust thats non resonated so im just trying to find a nice spot in between that and standard R 🤣 Its a fair chunk of cash for the system to not be happy with it!
  11. Resonator delete also I should add.
  12. I've been looking at the remus cat back but unsure on which path to take in regards to resonated or not. I have the standard exhaust just now with the valves coded open and dont get me wrong it sounds nice when your pressing on and stealthy enough when your just driving to the shops but theres always that part of me that thinks it could be a bit louder. I would be going for a valved system either way but from any remus owners is there a huge difference between resonated and unresonated?
  13. They were a decent fit I wasnt expecting much for £30 but im happy with them! Ive kept my original silver ones so if the finish on them doesnt last i'll just get them wrapped. If you just search on ebay for mk7 mirror caps theres a few sellers. I checked to see if the seller I bought from still had them but they havent got any more listings.
  14. So after a month of ownership and my only mod being some ebay specials mirror caps I got my first "real" mod. Oettinger spoiler hopefully with me this week
  15. I was actually reading your thread earlier on the springs! As you said theres no perfect lowering spring and the only thing putting me off the Eibachs is the drop too. I dont mind trying different brands but the labour cost and allignments might start to add up quickly. Thankfully the car isnt a daily as I have a works van so its more of a 2nd weekend car.
