  1. Very nice - but I might be biased as I collect my Lapiz blue one on Saturday - can't wait! It's been a long wait as I ordered it at the end of November! Dave
  2. I'm waiting for delivery of my new R which was due later this month. I'm not p/x ing my current car, but the contract specifically says that if delivery of the new car is delayed beyond the estimated delivery date then they can reduce the value of the p/x, but by no more than 5% per month. Suggest you check your purchase contract to see if it has a similar clause. Dave
  3. I'm jealous! Mine was supposed to be being built first week March but update I got from the dealer last week is they don't expect it to be ready for collection until April or early May 😕. And that was before half of Eurooe went on lockdown, so expecting it to be delayed. My order wasn't confirmed until about 20th December. Dave

Thanks Ian. Those mods are subtle and look great! Dave

    New car

Hi Ian Do they come with the R logo in red as standard now? My new R is due to arrive end of next month - can't wait! Dave
  6. Hi I originally 'ordered' 30th November but there were some shenanigans with the dealer as they'd apparently miscalculated the price we shook hands on so I don't thinks the order was formally placed with VW until around 18th December. Dave
  7. I got in just in time then. Build provisionally confirmed for 1st week March 😃. Dave
  8. Yes I am. I did think about limiting options to keep list price below £40k, but I spend 2.5hrs a day in the car and do 18k miles a year, so I want the extras and will just have to pay the extra £23 per month. Not happy about it mind!
  9. Thanks all. I'm looking at a reasonably high spec - lapis blue, pan roof, discover pro, dynaudio, Vienna leather, prets, dynamic chassis control and the blind spot package, and the best offer I've got is 17% discount from Drive the deal - £36,833 against list price of £44,395. Local (ish) dealer via carwow came in at £37,401 so will see if they'll move. Dave

  11. Thanks Shug, that's what I'm looking at doing. As Gavras said above, VW are currently doing a £2,000 deposit contribution if you finance on PCP.
  12. Thanks both. Second hand pricing is bizarre - my local dealer has a 19 plate with almost exactly the spec I want with 5k miles on it for £35,950, but Orange Wheels have quoted a brand new one for £37,200. Only £1,250 more! Dave
  13. Evening all Newbie alert! I'm currently driving a 2007 mk5 GTI Edition 30 which I really enjoy, but it's now coming up for 133k miles so I'm thinking about a change and the Golf R is an obvious next step. Nearly new second hand cars looks quite expensive compared to what I suspect I could get a new one for with discount. However, does anyone know when factory order book will close for new mk7.5 orders? If I'm buying a new car I'd like to spec it how I want it rather than being restricted to what's in stock. Thanks Dave
