Yes. Go into the assist menu, then tap front assist and you can disable speed limit preview and junction preview separately.

@dv52 interior monitoring that's the one. For when you leave pets in the car (briefly with the windows open and all that). Didn't know it didn't do the full alarm though. It's what I've used on ferries before and had no trouble. But I suppose that was only the Dover Calais crossing and it depends on how rough the sea is.

.hmm.......... to add to @Bugs2206  (Stuart's) advice, this is the alleged button (apology for showing a LHD car):

The button doesn't turn-off the anti-theft alarm entirely - but it does disable the interior monitoring sensors (which are installed in the roof console-see below) and the anti-tow alarm

Switching off the interior monitoring system and anti-tow alarm
The orientation lighting in the button  must be lit up when switching the systems off. To switch the orientation lighting on, remove the vehicle key from the ignition lock and open the driver door.
Press the  button  . A yellow indicator lamp will light up in the button until the vehicle is locked. Close all doors and the tailgate. Lock the vehicle using the vehicle key. The interior monitoring system and anti-towing alarm are switched off until the next time the vehicle is locked. I'm not sure what happens up there in UK - but down here in the "colonies" - when a factory fitted anti-theft alarm is installed, the key-fob  has a "release" button that totally disables the anti-theft alarm.

Hmm........ I'm always tremulous when questioning Moderator's replies - but here goes : Are you sure?

With absolutely no offense intended - maybe there is a confusion between the anti-theft alarm and the process for disabling  SAFELOCK - which is VW's dead-lock facility?

Be gentle if I'm wrong - please (Moderators are scary people) 😉

You can get this ( I think) by changing the left or right section of the info cluster. You have to add it to the list of things that are shown, but you can have driving data. Then say it's on the left, press left on the wheel and then left again and it'll bring up a sub menu with which info to show (since start, since refuel and long term).
I'll nip out and check to see if I'm completely wrong and grab some photos.

I think @AHG was alluding to this and I hope this helps. So. assuming you want it on either side, yep it's there. Press right (or left depending on what side you want it) on haptic buttons. Go to settings.

Then tick distance / time with ok button

Then once it's enabled, go back (with left button) and then down to choose it.

Then you can go right again to enter the sub menu to select which trip data you want, or reset.

And yes, I need to clean my interior because that is one dusty screen.

@Booth11 not sure if you'll eventually want to move this to the tips and tricks thread?

Enjoying a few weeks in the Highlands. Today we took the Cromaty-Nigg ferry. Almost hanging off the back with waves lapping up over the rear tyres. Granted I could have shuffled a bit further forwards but eh it was fun.

Yeah, they show all the demo cars with Black Style package (where you have darkened front optics), which looks really cool with the new more sharp headlights. Especially with colours like Kings Red or White. (but no red stripe, you obviously don't need one on the red color 😅).

You can see here as well - https://www.instagram.com/reel/C22qQqWIzG6/?igsh=MTUzdGJlcjdmazg0aA%3D%3D
    Looks so sleek.

Unless they go hybrid? Reduce the ICE back down to 265, same as the new GTI, and add 80PS of electric motor from the GTE. Now that would be interesting, albeit not to everyone's taste I imagine.

And probably a long shot, as the spy photos show no sign of the charge socket.

Exactly. But.... the temporary warnings should be more distinguishable from the fault errors. Part of the difficulty of working out if we have a genuine fault on our cars (steering wheel or otherwise) is that there's no real difference between the messages which pop up for "sorry the sensor is blocked / misted up" and "computer says no"; both just give a non-descript warning.

Sorry dumb question, what is tear wipe?

Tear wipe (or teardrop wipe) is a single delayed wipe of the windscreen that kicks in a few seconds after using the windscreen washer jets. It helps to get rid of any drops still on the windscreen.

Congrats! You found the lesser spotted, slightly less irritating gremlin!

I've had that. Parked the car for a couple of
hours, gave the infotainment chance to fully power off and that resolved it for me. Had me about 2 miles away from actual location.

My verification process is to push it in until air starts to come out of the valve, and then I close the lever. If it is a screw on, less errors occur but you need to make sure it’s all the way (sometimes the thread is sticky). Again here too, air coming out a the indication the valve has opened.

The amount of air in car wheel is great, to if you took just a bit out and then filling it to 45 took 2-3 minutes, you were probably on 30-35 really, and the valve didn’t give in at first.
Also, I’d trust the TPMS, as I never had a false alarm from it, in the VAG cars I had it in.

A friend of mine had a broken valve because of a car wash, it doesn’t always leak, sometimes just gets stuck.

Same goes for brakes. Always replace in pairs and as @TheBlondeFella says get the best you can afford at the time.
