Firstly I’d like to thank you all for all the advice posted here - it is invaluable to those of us starting on our R journey!
I’d been looking on and off for a Mk7.5 Lapiz Blue with Cadiz wheels for about 9 months. When push came to shove and I was given the formal go ahead to switch out my wife’s 2015 Fiesta, I found and bought the car within 24 hours! Once I knew the colour, the wheel size and the all important climate windscreen, the choice dropped to a pool of one! So the purpose of this post is to give back a little by sharing the wireless charging solution I came up with. Firstly it had to be for an iPhone 15 / 15 pro and support MagSafe, and needed its own power supply as I have a wireless CarPlay unit in the cubby too. The result was: The charging pad came from Amazon for £20.99 - Magnetic Wireless Car Charger... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CFZVPR9K?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I then used a rubber adhesive to attach both the rubber insert into the cubby and the mat itself on to the tubber insert. A small hole in the back and then a ‘12V to 5V/ 3A Voltage Converter with Dual USB Adapter Connectors’ for £6.99 provided the power - https://amzn.eu/d/8eMyNZJ Poking the wire down the passenger trim side I needed a usb extension lead - but should have just bought the 1m version of the MagSafe charging pad: Power converter wired in at the fuse box… Connect up in the passenger footwell to complete the install: The list of other mods is huge from dual LED lights in the boot, Lockwood sill protectors, various plastic covers, washer funnel update, bonnet catch fix, emergency triangle, a Pedalbox Pro, to emergency lights in the doors etc etc: And a shed load of coding using ODBEleven… Awaiting fitment - Osram Dynamic mirror indicators and rear footwell lights The car itself: Thank you all again!
