@casper666Thanks for taking the time. The Jerez wheels go quite well with the Mk7.5, I think you've given me an idea for an upcoming birthday present.

You won't be able to upoad images directly until you reach a certain number of posts (25 I think). If it's not too much hassle, you can upload your picture(s) to a website like Postimages or Flickr and then post the link here.

Hey, welcome. I'd second a pic or two if you have the time, I've not seen a Mk7 with Mk8 rims before.
-
Took the words out of my mouth. It's a welcome update, but how much work went into it to justify that price? I know the official answer will be the usual months/thousands of miles of testing, but that was the case for 7 variants as well. Still, the stock 'box is notably limited. I can't lie - I might be saving up for this...

I've got that in my boot ready to go on; I need to stop waiting and ring the detailer. As careful as I've been, there are a couple of scuffs already. Long term, I'd prefer to swap it for a matte/carbon trim if they're available.

I was getting ~£4,500 for the full car back in summer, I would have bitten your hand off for anything close to £3,000. I ended up only going with the front end for £1,000, as the 8.5 bumper has so many small surfaces at sharp angles it will doubtlessly pick up chips that are not spotted on quick inspections. As others have said, full car PPF is worth it if you value the peace of mind it offers over worrying about any potential paint repair and how much it would mismatch the original paintwork.

I think HK is the only way to get a subwoofer (and more importantly, the associated wiring) without extensive modifications afterwards. -
Merry Christmas everybody, and a Happy New Year to boot. Here's to enjoying the festive period with loved ones.

No creaky panels in mine, but having seen the real carbon trim I do feel like it would have been worth the price - it looks a fair bit better than the fake trim. Here's a weird bongfest tale: Car was parked a day longer than usual Tracker/in-car software show no battery warnings Made journey to work with no issues Parked up for ~6 hours (3-4 hours less than typical) Journey home from work, bongfest time Three errors immediately (front sensor, front impact, warning systems) Errors show up on car card in infotainment Tap the card, errors disappear from screen + dash ~7 seconds from first bong to errors cleared No further issues on multiple trips around town The car's parked up for the holidays now, I'll keep an eye on it. From what I can see, most bongfests go through many more errors than mine did and don't clear nearly as quick.

Do any 8.5 PP owners have their Special & Drift modes unavailable from a cold start? Mine don't seem to appear until the car has been run for a bit, then I can turn the engine off/on and it would still be available. The next day (i.e. left overnight), the modes would nto be available again.
-
Have you put a stop/start shortcut (or assist shortcut) on the infotainment screen? Or did they disappear from the menu? I've had Special/Drift modes disappear and reappear, but I assumed this was due to some engine warm-up period before they could be used. One for the gremlins thread...

JCT are Motorfinity's go-to dealer as well. It makes sense to have multiple dealers available, especially in the current market. A few of us were talking about dealers going under a few months ago; I didn't think it would be this soon. Inflation has hit like a truck this year, and the recent slowdown (food + drink, ultilities) won't affect car prices all that much. Sales will have cratered across the board. -
Good to see that they're on it at least. Remember to put the immobiliser/tracker in service mode when it goes in.

My experience lines up with @Booth11's comment. Built early May, delivery mid-June (five weeks). This included four days (Mon-Thu) at the dealer's before the delivery date. -

Estimated delivery late February/early March based on the build date. I hope you're looking forward to it! -
Just like Thanos ... it was inevitable. It'll keep being pushed back now that manufacturers have seen the EV bubble popped in Europe (e.g. UK's plans to tax EVs per mile). The push will be for hybridisation overall powertrain efficiency.
-
Unfortunately, you probably do. For comparison, here's my experience on my 8.5: Car is driven daily (~30 miles), parked on weekends Dashcam hardwired (Viofo A329S 2ch) late June No backup battery, OVP set at 12.8V in app Tracker/immobiliser (S5 VTS/Ghost) fitted early November Tracker shows battery ~11V at first fitment Take the car on a runaround, voltage up to ~12.5V No issues since (no further warnings, no bongfest) Occasional battery checks are always >12V The Mk8 is known for battery issues, the jury is still out on the 8.5. It's standard practice for dealers to blame extra electronics regardless of who fitted them. But it's their job to fix issues regardless; wirh a backup battery it should nto be going that low.

Sorry to hear about the kerbing @luton-stu. Commiserations in advance for your wife lording it over you for the next few years. Financial damage is temporary, emotional damage is permanent!

So it turns out I still need to wear my reading glasses... Mine is actually on 2650; you should receive this update when yours is in for a service, or you could ask for it when it's in for the paddle issue.
-
Just checked, mine's on 2565 as well. I usually run with high(er) privacy settings - less for privacy, more to avoid unexpected updates, so I've not had any minor updates pushed. Everything seems to work, bar my phone not connecting wirlessly twice (both times fixed by plugging in directly), so I might wait for its service in June rather than risk anything getting worse.
-
That's me, thanks for the spot! What software version are you on, asuming you have the most recent version? I should probably update over the holiday period as the car will not be used for about a week.
-
Welcome @NeilRbe! You've got a lovely spec on order, hopefully it arrives just in time to see the sunny days return. Good to see you getting a decent price from your local dealer as well - you lose nothing for asking, and they potentially lose your custom if they're not willing to even budge on the price. Not a recommended sales tactic in the current car market...
-
Thanks for reminding me to decline all updates until I know the car is not needed! I couldn't be dealing with that when it's dark and I want to go home. Is 45 minutes typical for updating, or does it depend on the software revision?

Stunning sunset pics of a rare estate @tuner111! Have you put blue stickers on the badge and R decal? I have the decal sticker but I've not had time to put it on yet. Good to see a fellow Sonic enthusiast as well. Hedgehogs and cars are at their best when they're blue and extremely fast! 🦔
