Hi Peeps, So my 7.5 battery died a week or so ago. I replaced it (myself) with an AGM one. All was good for a week or so until i got in the car and started it up and got a Windscreen wiper error message on the dash, and found the front windscreen wipers to not be working. I turned it off, inspected the wipers (lifted them off the glass a little) and opened the bonnet/hood to see if anything looked awry. Closed the bonnet/hood, started the engine, and they worked! Next day, started up and the same dash error and no response from the wipers (the back one works though). Opened the hood, vacuumed the engine bay, blew air into the hood catch area, did a visual inspection of the fuses (under the hood at least) but only by removing and looking at, then replacing. Haven't looked at the one under the steering wheel. Nothing. No joy. So... could be the hood sensor, right? (maybe why opening and closing fixed it the FIRST time). How do i check, clean, fix this? When i changed the battery I didn't/couldn't remove the connection on the "battery module" that's connected to the negative terminal. I'm not sure how it releases - but maybe this connection is worth checking. How do i release this and pull apart? When i check with OBD-11 (which i'm not super clued up on using) I get one "Wiper motor control module" faulty one "Body computer 1/ vehicle. elec sys CM / cent elec." fault, and one "Brakes - Data bus missing message" fault. I cleared all other faults to see which ones persisted - not sure if this was a mistake or not. Worth mentioning that i used OBDeleven to update the coding on the battery to AGM, but only using the one click apps, not the long coding etc. I don't have a subscription to do it that way. I have also tried disconnecting the battery for 10+mins and re connecting. No change. Thoughts?

Hi, not a golf R but maybe common issues across the mk7/7.5 platform. currently having issues on my GTD with Fuse F8 in glove compartment blowing (dipped beam, cornering lights and electronic handbrake in the manual) Changed the fuse multiple times and all lights work before fuse blows so defo not a bulb (so maybe a module or lose connection) doesn’t always blow straight away. anyways, the bigger issue is now a number of random fault codes randomly appearing and then clearing. Car sometimes fails to start and comes up with Error: stabilisation control (Esc) along with start/stop unavailable. this is very intermittent but has been happening more often and now car cuts out when driving. not sure if it could be faulty battery or the possible short circuit in lights dragging voltage down. Ill try attach an image of faults Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks
