mk7.5r Not really a build build.... Oryx pearl white R estate
BobbyT posted a topic in 7R Members Rides
Just starting a thread for my estate. Not going crazy as I'm quite happy with the power at the mo. Not sure if I'll really get to use the power it has now very often. I'm absolutely loving the car so far. It's so good to drive and seems to have limitless grip through the corners. It really doesn't feel like an estate. The spec I went for was the Oryx paint, Dynaudio, reverse cam, climate screen and black mirrors and bars. The standard tech on the car is great. I have some new wheels to go on once I ship them back from the states and I'd like to lower it little in the future. Sent from my S9 using Tapatalk- 202 replies

Hello All, Having owned my R for just over a month, I've noticed I have been getting condensation built up in my headlights...not something id expect from otherwise what seems a well built car. My car has just gone 3 years old and 25k miles, but I cannot understand why I am having this issue. Has anyone else noticed this? Anyone ever resolved it? I've seen a couple people posting on here regarding this, but they were all pre facelift cars and the theme was it was a pre facelift headlight issue... I have it booked in for a Haldex Service & brake fluid change next month, I will mention it to the dealers. Not the end of the world but not the nicest of sights lol.

Hi, I'd be keen for your thoughts. I have a Golf R Mk7.5 estate GPF (sleeper) that currently has a Forge inlet, K&N filter, uprated NGK spark plugs / coils and DIY opened inlets on the grille along with a custom DSG and TSU tune from DMS Automotive. Stock was 309 BHP and 450 Nm of Torque at the flywheel. After tune, I'm now getting 378 BHP and 550 Nm of Torque at the flywheel. Next step in April is the replace anti roll bars and shocks with H&R roll bars and coil overs, SuperPro bushes, Wagner Intercooler, BCS down pipe with sports cat and update the ECU tune. Whilst I'm doing all this and with the expected power and torque increases, I've decided to upgrade the front brakes. I've already got braided lines and Ferodo pads and VBT J hooked disks. Now I want to go for a Big Brake Kit and was looking at the 362mm two piece floating rotors and cannot decide if I go with 4-pot Brembos for Aston Martin or go for 380mm two piece floating rotors with 6pot calipers from AP racing. The car will be running the 18" Cadiz for now with spacers (keeping to the sleeper theme) and will not be tracked. However, it is driven quite hard or very hard most of the time. Any thoughts and logic between 4pot and 6pot would be greatly appreciated. Cheers AD

How’s things folks, new member and first post, looking for an Irish MK7.5 R or even a well spec’d GTI performance/ clubsport Must haves are; pan roof, stop start button, virtual dash (most have but I’ve seen a couple of rare ones without), leather interior, DSG, 5 doors, don’t want one with Cadiz wheels and no red cars, would consider any other colour, must have low milage also. Preferably standard and immaculately clean, don’t mind a few subtle mods using reputable parts. If anyone knows of any send me a pm with info please, appreciate it thank you for your time. 😊

Hi, Im looking to remap my R 7.5 to stage 1. The car has a few mods including a chameleon grey wrap but its time for more power. What is the best stage 1 map out there for the price? I don't mind buying an air intake or downpipes etc. as long as the I can feel a decent upgrade in power/torque.

Hello all, my first post on the forum. Just wondering: Which are the ‘best’ lowering springs for ride comfort? The car won’t be getting track use so I’m just looking to reduce the arch gap, without breaking my back 😂. With that in mind, I’m looking at a 20mm drop. Which spacers are best, that don’t cause rub? Should also note; - I won’t be changing the dampers on the car. - I’m running the 18inch Pretoria’s. As opposed to the 19’s or the Cadiz.

Hi, I've got a Golf R (66 plate) Mk7 upgraded to a 7.5. Virtual Cockpit and Sat Nav have been installed. I'm getting the below: 1) CORNERING LIGHT (AFS) error message 2) When applying the full beam headlight to flash, the blue logo appears on the virtual cockpit however the headlight beam does not occur. Has anyone else had this issue when upgrading.

I just nipped into my local vw dealer armed with a quote from carwow and looking at the finance calculator on VW.co.uk So with approx 4.5k of the asking price and 3k on my own money on an R with a list of 38,700 the monthly payments work out at 460 a month! I was shocked! A great car no doubt but 460 a month! So my 7.5r dream is over for now. Have a good day!
