Hello VWROC, I'm Chris, originally from the UK, but based in Melbourne, Australia. My first post here, apologies for the length. I've spent a little bit of time on the forum over the last few months, picking up tips and reading this section mostly. I thought I'd start a thread and get amongst the community. Also quite nice to document the journey I've had with the car so far... Back in July last year, I took delivery of this, a late 2015 delivery Wolfsburg edition R, in Limestone Grey. They released a limited number of these over here, in hatch and wagon formats. Unfortunately, the 7 never made it to the shores here as a 3-door Based on the standard R, the Wolfsburg also comes with: Pretorias in gloss black Gloss black mirror caps Carbon/Nappa Leather ACC The car also has DCC optioned too, along with an Audison audio upgrade. Here's a picture from day 1, when the car was delivered at work. You may notice the ride-height - the previous owner had VWR springs fitted, along with a Whiteline rear sway bar (amongst other mods, some of which were subsequently removed before being sold to me). Having a friend that decided to step away from the world of tech (loosely) and start his own garage has been both a blessing and curse! I've always been into cars, so it was inevitable the modifying bug would take hold, only I thought it'd be at least 6 months before I started. After 3 months, I was down at said garage for a Stage 1 tune. They have their own Dyno, so it was a custom tune, also confirming the car had a dsg map from the previous owner. Here is it on the dyno, along with the graph, where it made a respectable 214.5 Kw at all 4. They love kilowatts here, which has taken some getting used to. Should roughly equate to approx 290 at the wheels I think. I also had a CTS turbo inlet pipe fitted, to accompany the turbo turbo muffler delete, with a ram air filter and flow mod completed too. The difference the tune made was superb. As you'll see, it's power delivery is linear, and feels really nice out on the road. The airbox mod created improved induction noise too. Another month passed, and after driving a friends stage 2 with an IE CAI, I was talked into buying one of those too, to create a little extra noise. Being quite pedantic when it comes to my car being clean, I'd booked the car in for a full detail, including a ceramic coating. The paint wasn't in bad shape, but I was keen to create an extra layer of protection. December rolled around, and it went in for two days work. I'd also removed the ugly European plate holder that they dealer fit when arriving here, fitting some bumper plugs which cleaned the front up a little. A picture from picking the car up (amongst much more exotic machinery), and at home out in the sun. That's how the car currently stands. I've got it booked in this week to have the front de-chromed, with gloss black to tie it in with the rest of the car. Future plans are a full TBE - I'd quizzed Nige at BCS re a down-pipe late last year, but decided to hold off and wait to get a few holidays out of the way before going for the full system. I'll also have a stage 2 tune completed to compliment the exhaust. Long term plans are hopefully some track time, maybe a BBK, wheels and tyres. Said friend's garage (Underground Performance on Facebook) are also helping develop and test full hybrid turbo solutions, with some excellent results. (Snail Turbo on Facebook) That could be the future, but definitely a while off yet. Thanks all for reading if you got this far. I aim to keep this up-to-date as the changes take place. Cheers!
