I get that member R400 has become widely perceived as being a troll but...

Every single post he/she makes is instantly followed by a barrage of slabbery comments and we now appear to have a stalker commenting 'splendid' after every R400 post. Now i'm wondering who the troll is. It is tedious.

In my opinion R400 has been having good sport but has slipped up and is increasingly posting semi-intelligent and informed stuff.

Let's be honest, there's not that much fresh content now and it's not ideal that a big chunk is pointless guff.

I don't really care if R400 has an R although I imagine he/she does, but the continued 'schoolboy' retorts are shit.

Can admin either demand proof of car or block the user?

You cant block him if he cant prove he has an R, thats a tad excessive and also rather unfair. As much as he is coming on here posting the same usual shite he does come up with some interesting points and the odd answer. Every forum will have an R400 im sure, freedom of speech and all that. He gets a hard time which I agree with, but he does bring it on himself at times when he goads the manual drivers. Its just water of a ducks a r s e with me now. I prefer him to djejong lol who was just as bad in his own right

Yeah OK that was badly phrased but it was late...

I have no problem with R400 at all and I do not believe he/she should be blocked. I have a problem with every single one of his (frequently helpful/informed) posts being followed by a raft of now standard inane retorts by others.

R400 has quite rightly totally ignored all demands for proof from members. It would be useful if admin simply said "he's got one so move on".

And Fraser, R400 does not deserve in any way to be mentioned in the same timezone as dejongj...

I agree - a while back, I was a Moderator on another Car Forum - we had a similar R400 candidate there and it was a whole load of hassle, for the Moderators. I took him on, others took umbrage and therefore, I (wrongly it seems) tried to humour him - for that I apologise. This is a Car Forum though, for those that enjoy and drive the VW Golf R, both in Manual and DSG guise and it's not a medium for active care in the community. 

That said and for those of you who are relatively new to the R Forum, take a quick look back through the endless pages that have gone before and read some of the tripe he's Posted. I accept that I'm chastised, I'll refrain from "inane retorts" but experience suggests to an old feck' like myself, give him and inch and he'll take a mile................................

Have to agree some honesty and transparency should be given by all members and yes I do miss the R forum more

I have to disagree TP. He / she / it has never taken the bait and retaliated, no matter how much abuse has been thrown back following an 'informative' post.

Admin can find the last 10 public IP's he/she is posting from and then find out where they are and who they are registered too.

Hi guys, I really did not intend this to sound like a cry for a member to be blocked, nor did I intend to chastise anyone.  I am in no position to do either of these things.

TP27 if I have caused offence I apologise unreservedly.

 

All I really meant was that it is boring to repeatedly see the same comments immediately following anything posted by R400 on every thread.

I do think that, if any member was unprepared to even privately demonstrate to admin that they should be on the forum, then why should the admin team extend membership to them?

 

Members being blocked?  Possibly me last night…

 

A sage lesson that perhaps Bulleit and thread starting are not a great combination…

As a serial forum lurker, personally I think he/she is brilliant. Nothing harmful or malicious, never retaliates, just some tongue-in-cheek humour. 

 

Read his comments, laugh, move on. I don't see anything wrong with it - in fact I think it adds a bit of character, to quite frankly, a few dull/boring/repetitive threads.

I actually think R400 is alright , some mildly amusing stuff, what gets up my nose is all the crap after from everyone else abusing him, there is no need for it. They should all learn to grow up.

 

Also this is the second thread started on R400 so it says to me he is a valuable asset to the forum.
