PmP
Increased throttle pedal sensitivity adaptation (UPDATE: ADVISED TO AVOID ON THE GOLF 7R) Was having a look for a fog light adaptation when I found this adaptation I hadn't seen before, listed for the skoda superb mk3 on briskoda. However, looking at the coding there is only two options the original setting VW/SEAT/SKODA and the new setting for AUDI. So in theory this should work the same for the Golf as it does the Superb (as well as other models). Has anyone else tried this change on their 7R, maybe it's nothing new? Have changed this on my 7R and it does seem more responsive to initial throttle input but haven't done enough mileage to be certain, or checked back to back yet. Increased sensitivity of the throttle pedal Controller 01- Engine 07 - Coding Byte 0, Bit 0-2, Change from Škoda (01) to AUDI (02) this will dramatically reduce lag on pressing accelerator pedal. Std: Change to: If like me and many other owners you think the std throttle response is pretty dead, then this will dramatically change the way the car drives, the power is now instant just like on other cars. IMO this is the best free mod you can do! Stealthmode, slider09 and HamidS92

ashleyman
Found this in VCDS myself but never changed the setting. Ended up buying a pedal box which helped!

Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Was searching for a way two turn on fog light on both sides at rear of Golf when I stumbled across this on Briskoda. I have a VI Monitor that connects to the OBD2 port. It shows throttle input, which might be a more scientific way to see if this works. Stealthmode
This could have saved me and many others a nice wedge spent on a pedalbox, has anyone else tried or going to try it? HamidS92

Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Will be able to tell you better after more miles. I can't really comment on pedal box comparison having never tried one. What I would say is, do S3 owners use the pedal box? If so it might more subtle than we are hoping.
Stobsie
I have seen this mod before but if my memory serves me correctly it causes some kind of problem, can't for the life of me think what happens but it was on this forum about 2 yrs ago? Viewing on my phone at present but when I have a bit more time on my laptop I will try and find the original thread.

Sobsie: yes, you are correct - tricking the engine into believing that it is fitted into an Audi sometimes (most of the time?) has a consequential impact on the ABS control unit (@ address hex03). My suspicion is that the incompatibility may be able to be fixed by a further change in the ABS unit, but since there are not long coding helper screens - my beliefs are just speculation! Don PS: when I did the tweak - long ago, I can't remember thinking that it made much of a difference - might be different for other engine types Stobsie
PmP
Thanks, didn't take any chances and removed change earlier. So can't really comment on how it performed.

luxifer
sorry for digging up this old topic but I've only recently got me a used MY16 Passat B8 (MQB platform, 240hp bitdi) and I've tried this mod yesterday... I really very much liked the result as it removed the throttle lag almost entirely for me - the car felt very much transformed... I also didn't have any issues with acc or abs or anything... however, after a while I found out that I couldn't switch between drive modes any more (the car has dcc and drive mode selection) - pushing the button would just shortly flash the last mode I've had selected in the instrument cluster but didn't bring up the menu in the infotainment screen any more - also cycling through the modes via button didn't work any more... so I've reverted the change after driving with it for quite a while and on my commute back I've mainly kept the drive train in "S" mode to see how that compares to the "audi" setting... I found that "S" sharpens throttle response over "D" quite a bit but it's still laggy compared to the "audi" setting does anyone have a pointer for me as to what I could try to get back drive mode selection with the "audi" setting enabled? obviously the infotainment is different so I couldn't just follow the audi coding guides for enabling drive mode selection.
