Where are all the Rocco R Owners!?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Do love a Rocco R and can't say I see many of them about, forum seems far too quiet for Rocco's.

Must be some Rocco owners who like the odd modification out there!?? Lets see it!

Yeah there does seem to be be very few Rocco R owners on here :(

There are a few 'stage 2/2+' Rocco Rs going about with some impressive dyno printouts.

Mine on the other hand is just a standard pre-facelift Oryx R with every spec option fitted but with just the heated leather seats instead of the wingbacks.

Need to get some conversations going and see what people have got out there! Must be more than two of you! lol.

Sounds like a good spec! Got any plans for it?

My wife is angling for me to replace her 1 series with a rocco R... Im not sure whether having a Golf R and a Rocco R at the same time would look a bit funny....

She may yet get her way of course as I hate her 1er !!!

Took about a year of searching to find a used one with every option fitted as wasn't willing to pay the £37k+(minus whatever discount VW would offer) asking price for an new one with that spec lol.

Only real plans are probably lowering springs and a custom stage 1 remap/DSG map as that's enough extra power for a FWD but been saying that since I got it nearly 2 years ago!

Do it lol.

Need to be quick about it though if you're after a brand new now that VW are discontinuing the Scirocco :(

Didnt realise it was being discontinued... do you know when?  I presume there will be no replacement, just fully stopped?!  Thats a shame as they do look rather pretty!

Hmmm could well be tempted, especially if they do some end of the run high spec/special offers!!

Don't know if there has been any official announcement by VW regarding it but it's already been stopped in Australia and I remember reading on Scirocco Central forum recently that someone had contacted one of the VW MDs (VWUK MD I think) who confirmed it's not being replaced when the new model is due which most people assume is 2017. I'm sure others have had confirmation from VW dealers that the Scirocco has run its course and that the MK3 facelift is the last version.

Then there are all the rumours that it will be replaced by a new Corrado which personally I think is highly unlikely following dieselgate. Other rumours are a new Tiguan Coupé will be aimed at the Scirocco fans.

You and I both know that will never happen. everyone on this forum planned to go stage 1 only. You'll end up at least stage 2 haha

Im doing a turbo conversion on mine. hoping to have it mapped by june/july

Haha that's why I've resisted doing anything to it so far. I keep trying to convince myself the FWD can't handle anymore power but there's further money be spent to help with that lol.

What's the spec of yours?

What figures you hoping for after the conversion and map?

FWD is great fun! I had/have (its in many pieces at the moment) a MK5 GTI running Stage 2+, had a little help with traction from a Quaife ATB but those engines really deliver strong power when you get it right! I'd definitely advise it lol.

I wanted to get the forum's thoughts regarding a road trip to find some fun driving roads towards the end of the summer this year.

Planning to head from the South, to north Wales in the hope of finding some fun driving roads. I currently have pirelli P7 tyres on the car, I believe they are the original tyres on the car, so might be over 4 years old. From an MOT perspective, they have a lot of life left. However, there is quite a lot of tyre noise and road rumble coming into the cabin now, which increases in frequency as the speed of the car increases - this is the main reason for considering changing them before the road trip.

My Scirocco R does below average annual mileage and will only do about 1500 more miles by the time we go on this road trip. So should I get the most mileage I can out of the tyres until the tread gets below 2mm, or fit a fresh set of boots prior to the road trip?

I look forward to your thoughts,
      Dan

I'm interested in fitting Eibach Pro-kit springs to the OE DCC dampers. For the Scirocco R (pre 2014), there are two options:

E10-85-021-05-22 Axle load front axle to [kg]
      1090 kg

      E10-85-021-01-22
Axle load front axle to [kg] 1050 kg

I wanted to find out which where the correct springs to go for? I have a 2012 Scirocco R, DSG.

      Thanks in advance!

After coming from a 170 2.0 TDI Rocco, I decided it was time for a upgrade. Just recently purchased a 2015 Scirocco R. It drinks but I love it!

      Hi guys,

      My first post here ...
I picked up my new Scirocco R on Friday.
      This car is so awesome!

I ordered it first week of April and picked it up first week of May.

I got the sunroof and leather options (these are the only options in Australia).

Here's some photos from this morning:
