Mjbrooke
I'm absolutely in love with my mk7 r estate. Great fun on b roads, well mannered on the motorway, practical for the family and they're very few cars that can beat me at the lights. Purely for bragging rights I'd love to get my golf to 400hp. I've seen some builds on here go beyond that but 400hp is my target. I'm thinking I should be able to manage it with a few small mods such as airbox, decat downpipe, intercooler and the all important remap. Anyone think this target is possible on a relatively limited budget? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Novus
Yes it's possible
Chris3King
Depends how limited the budget is
mp2811
You should be right with Decat, intake, inlet pipe, IC and ECU/DSG tune. Not really a small budget thing though.
ToRnado
As you haven't stated an actual figure as a budget then nobody can say what's possible. If you buy the parts second-hand on here you'll make some substantial savings. In order to save on labour get all of the mods fitted at once. almac
MCC
£3k - £5k depending on brands and labour should cover it .... big spread but then there is a wide choice of kit on these.... Best of luck.. 😉
abevan1984
That's not too bad a cost when you think of the performance increase and how much you will surprise those smug M3 and RS4 driviers!

R-Estate
BMS tuning box. There's a thread on it in the tuning section.
Mjbrooke
Realistically I'm looking at about £1500 for budget. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Then you'll need to go 2nd hand and probably use a decat downpipe. Who are you planning to use for software? If you go with the likes of APR then most of your budget will be eaten up straight away by the ECU and DSG maps. I'd stick to Stage 1 with that budget. Sent from my SM-G935F using TapatalkAs already stated, for that budget you'll struggle to go full stage 2. Not sure how close you'll get with some hardware upgrades plus stage 1/JB4.
