Skyranger Posted August 11, 2017 Report Share Posted August 11, 2017 Afternoon, Just got an email from VW saying that there's a new data plug available which goes in the diagnostic port and can upload data to your phone. It says to call my dealer (Lookers Blackburn) and I'll get one fitted for free. Just called Lookers, this is the first they've heard of it. Well done VW you're a class act. They are posting me one out tonight as I live 1.5hrs from the dealers. The guy didn't know too much about them, said they are free until Dec.. They're alright but I think the novelty might wear off a bit with the challenges and stuff. Can tell you efficiency, how many litres of fuel you have left, and general info about the car. Notify vw assist if you break down and notifies your local dealership when your car is due a service so they can contact you. Probably more useful on a gte as tells you charge status and range left via the app and how many litres of fuel you've used. Plugged in connected up. Told me I needed fuel and a service in 900 miles via notification on my phone. Unplugged and put back in its box.
