sharper
Some thoughts on the best intercooler for a 7.5R fitted with a JB4 box. David from jb4shop fitted it and put the car on a dyno. Although the Power and torque figures were strong, we saw some highish air intake temperatures. David felt that an intercooler would make a significant difference. I’m aware that Airtech have a good reputation. I’ve also seen the Forge Motorsport stand alone FMIC (not twin cooler) and that looks to be really well made. I really don’t know that much about FMICs. Are there others out there and do they pretty much all offer the same thing? Any advice appreciated.
PocketRocket
I have the APR intercooler. Perfect fit and very high quality. This is my choice. Have also used it on previous car... Msportman and Jon R306 1
marshy
I’m running the Forge one on mine and very happy with the fit and finish.
gfarmer
I've got aForge cooler on my mk7 and I'mRunning 460hp and all is good . Wagner seems to be the best cooler available if your going for big numbers. I know someone who ran 500hp on the forge but then switched to Wagner for 500+ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mitch
JB4 here with a Wagner and other measures to keep those inlet charge temperatures down.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lawson
General consensus from several of the tuners is that the Wagner performs the best. Hence why I went for one myself. Mitch

Marty77
I'm probably going to go wagner, however racingline tend to do good black Friday deals. Anyone running a racingline intercooler?

Kieran
Sorry to hi-jack the post, but roughly how long does it take to fit an intercooler on a 7r? Lew

Anyone running a racingline intercooler? How much was last year's deal for the VWR cooler? It's current going rate is £780, whilst the Wagner is £800 (and includes hoses). Looking to go for Stage 1 Low torque straight to Stage 2 High torque (inc downpipe and clutch) so every penny counts for me

My specialist tuner estimated 3 hours or £180. It's quite a lot involved in fitting the intercooler, for me personally it is not a DIY job. There are a lot of youtube vids showing process. They are within a few quid of each other so holding off to see what deal is best.
