Recaro sportster CS ?

X2 cs are around 30kg total. ...maybe 35kg with my subframes

 

X2 stock seats are well over 100kg. Ive not weighed them but lifting them around they feel like 60kg+ each

if anyone needs the airbag resistor and info about getting cs in the car let me know. my seats are in and got a company who can make mk7 airbag resistor

When you say stock seats do you mean leather full electric movement mine are cloth and manual so hopefully lighter.

No way a stock seat is 60kg, I would be impressed if they are 30kg each fully kitted out - thats 9.5 stone each seat.

Take one out of your car and lift it off the ground. Feels nothing like deadlifting a little 30kg....im sure the arkward shape means i cant compare it to dumbells i lift but it gives me an idea.

Stock seats are heavy nowadays with all their electric motors, airbags and metal frames to hold the airbags in place with they ignite

Happy to be proven wrong but I still can't believe 60kgs per seat, I would suggest the awkward shape makes them feel heavier than they are.

30kg is 4.7 stone not 9.5.

 

Edit Sorry just re-read your post and realised you meant the 60kg is 9.5 stone, not the 30kg.

Right who can weigh a seat ASAP to settle this lol?

In all seriousness 60kg is a lot of weight for a single seat but if it’s true then what a weight saving a set of cs recaros is.

Hi Guys I'm in the Middle of Fitting these and after iv got the First seat in I'm trying to work out hour I could lower them as i feel like my head is about to touch the roof. and as i use the car for track days this isn't ideal with a helmet on. 

 

On A Side not has anyone been able to code out the airbags or is it only a resistor the only Option

I'm coming from a Megane with Recaros and not having a proper motorsport seat that can take a harness is a big omission from VW.

 

When my car arrives I'm going to do a few track days and see how I get on with the standard seat. I have a feeling I'll be disappointed.

Stock Mk7.5 GTi cloth seat weighs 24kg.

what rails ins do I need to fit the racaros sportster seats? I’ve seen some cheap vxr ones floating around and want to see if I can get them to fit. Cheers

Those seats are amazing. Why can't they do options for some proper Tip top seats. In the R

 

Maybe because of the amount of RS4 B7 Seats that got stolen they toned them down a bit within the VAG Group or i may be talking pervibiel.
