Article :: 2019 Golf Mk8 spied – basis for next-gen R?

Recommended Posts

Why?  I don’t have it in the Golf, but it’s brilliant in the BMW for everything from navigation to accessing specific sub menus as well as calling people.

I really don’t like touch screens.  At all.
I really don't like voice control. At all.

Each to their own and all that

Just had a quick look at new MK8.

Looks almost identical to the MK7. Tech is moved on but I’ll have to see it in the flesh and see how the driving reviews pan out.

I will probably want a change to RS3 / A45 or M2 Comp (used) to enjoy the feeling of buying something very different to my current car. It’s all about boredom after 4 years of ownership.

At the moment I still enjoy the car and it’s ability.

A Stage 2 R is almost too good even if it lacks a bit of character.

Yep I must admit as nice as the R is I will look for something a bit different when the time comes but not sure what at the moment, last few cars have been a bit different...

350z
Jag XFS
Golf R

I have no specific needs as kids grown up, no pets currently and short commute to work so the world is my lobster

What I've done to my car Dave makes it even harder to find a 'better' car.

Its the same old problem.....one day I get the boredom / itch to change but then I don't. I get in it take it for a quick blast and think...can an M2 do that any better? Well it wouldn't in the wet and I don't particularly like sideways heart in the mouth unannounced moments......great on track where there's no hedges or cars coming the other way.

Yeah its not always better just different. I have joined forces with a couple of friends and we have a BMW track toy for 2019 meeting up to strip it down soon

That will take care of thrills (and most likely spills lol) fairly cheaply so maybe I will go down the luxury route as I admit I miss my Jag sometimes...6bff709fbecc4ab828dbc1e47039e5dc.jpg

XFS sounds interesting.....a friend had one but now moved to a Tesla.....he rated his XFS.
I loved mine but it was one of the very early 3l diesel ones and on 100k+ was likely to start costing me...

Beautiful place to be and really made every journey feel special oh and no slouch for a 2 tonne+ barge 3c6a4516b5b682cbbaaf501ccf31980f.jpg9364031559aeaecf71055bbefd8e1ca1.jpg
