What did you do to your R today?

Recommended Posts

I had my DSG software updated by my vw main dealer today.

A few months back i also had the engine control software updated

by a vw main dealer.

Both times I noticed a significant improvement in drivability and

overall smoothness between engine and gearbox.

My cars a 2014 so clearly there have been updates to the software which

don't get applied as part of the regular servicing schedule.

Maybe the MK8 will be kept up to date as it can have over the air updates

but i think updating any major engine or gearbox software would probably

still be an onsite dealer task.

Today I went 'full pikey'!

Removed snow grate and fitted panel filter last year, today fitted elbow, hose and blanking plate then cut holes in grill.

Fixed an annoying rattle coming from rear seat back. Some insulation tape wrapped round seat back latch.

I used to get exactly the same problem and used a bit of foam - now solved by jamming a rear brace onto the latch

Everything is pretty tight once its on there, have to almost slam the seats back into position for them to latch

Thought you had done away with the back seats altogether when I read about the brace.
