Wheels wash and main 2 bucket wash using Bilt Hamber Auto Wash. Bilt Hamber Atom-Mac used on brake discs to prevent rust forming. Gyeon Tire on tyres. It had Gyeon WetCoat applied a couple weeks ago, and prior to that it was waxed end October with Gyeon Wax so is due a proper wax again imminently, but I want to do a spring detail so that can wait till then. Bilt Hamber Atom-Mac used on brake discs ? Nice tip. 👍 Booth11

Nice Do they give you specific care / cleaning instructions to keep it tip top? I be seen a few that degenerate after a while. I fancy Alcantara myself

GMballistic
Not posted here before but thought I'd share my new wheels purchase as the Mrs isn't interested although she did say they were pretty. They're Speedline Imperatore alloys with 235/40/18 MPS5 tyres. Also added Ezmods "R" decals to my calipers as well as painted the rear brake disc hubs with black VHT paint (fingers crossed it will last). 😉 Booth11

Thank you and yes it's a 7.5R, ...estate. 😉 The discs are Vagbremtechnic "J" hook which I am using with Tarox Strada pads all round & HEL s/s brake lines. Be good to see them in a photo taken from a bit further back so can see the rest of the car with them. With the wheels, discs and fresh R caliper decals, and the Michelin tyres - looks great! You ought to pop those up in this thread too! GMballistic

Not the best picture especially as because it's parked up on a curb the gap on the back wheel arch looks huge. Booth11

Lovely R Estate you have. I know what you mean about the big arch gap when parked on an incline at the rear, lol. GMballistic

I always tend to go for 5 spoke or 6 spoke alloys partly because they're easier to clean but I did feel these in particular would look good on the R. 😁
machine
I had the pleasure of ripping out my back seats and boot carpet due to water ingress. After reading posts about the various locations of ingress on MK7s and how common it is I got to work. I purchased a new rear badge drain pipe from my local TPS as mine was inside the tailgate as the grommet had gone. Easy enough job after watching some online videos. Pulled back the side carpet on each side of the boot to find the recess behind the rear bumper vents full of water. I had to enlist the help of the other half at this point to release the bung as I could not get my hands in to do it. The vents were loose and the obvious place where the water was getting in. I know I should have siliconed them in but time was pressing. I made a decision to place a small hole in the bung so that if the level got that high again it could drain out. The interior is still drying out and I am going to leave it out for a week and see if after the rain we are getting at the minute any water returns to the boot floor. Was this issue still present on the 7.5? If so I will have to check the wife's Tsi for the same thing.
