Was looking at getting a mk7 R a while back to share with the wife but things changed and decided to get 2 cars.

Couldn't justify the MK7 as car would be a weekend toy.

So decided on the R32 instead as I'd always fancied one.

Bought this about a month ago.

Nothing special to look at but was well looked after plus well priced.

Wow. Stunning. What a beautiful R32 (and accompanying cat too).  Some hard work done there Tom and some very stylish and thoughtful modifications.  Proof here for all to see that the devil is in the d

The R32 has an exhaust sound that lots of people love :)   One of my friends has one that he just can't bring himself to sell (it has out-lasted several newer Golfs so far, and shows no signs of being replaced).  Something that generates so much loyalty amongst owners must be doing a lot right.

Driver arches and sill stripped, cleaned and treated.

Found an annoying water leak in the boot.

Realised it was the rear body vent.

Siliconed and wax oiled the shit out of it......no more leak!

Also cleared and treated any rust I could find.

Put some R centre caps on a while ago to replace the white worm VW ones.

And a photo of the RCD 330.

Not the best sounding HU but it looks and works great, well worth the £160 I paid

I also bought a leather repair kit for the steering wheel, gear knob/sleeve and handbrake.

Hard to see from the photos but they all look way better than they.

Steering wheel now has a nice soft feel to it rather than a slippy shiny one.

I love the seats in this. Were they added later or did they come with the car / option?

I've just traded my mk5 r32 in for my mk7 R.  It's a car that is really easy to get attached to. I feel like they had a lot of character and with the sound made up for what they lack in performance compared to the cars today.  Ours was used as a daily (wife taking kids to school and then off to work) and didn't miss a beat in the 4 1/2 years we had it. The deciding factor for us was the yearly tax.
