Autowatch Ghost Bypass

Oh and by the way, Autowatch are currently testing a Ghost installation for the VW range that will allow anti-hijack to be enabled, theres still a few trials to carry out, but should be available shortly. I'm on the email list for when it's perfected, so this might swing my ultimate decision. If you need to ask for more detail, contact Bradley Boxall at Autowatch.

Would this be a firmware update or a new device? If it’s coming soon I may hold out for that one??

Yeah i like TR Hamza stuff, laid back guy who likes his cars. Love his M2. Calvin is alright, bit of a wide boy and I'm sure he bought a 'Fake' type R aka a stolen car like you see on ebay... 'replica'

Ricky has some sweet cars on his channel.

Yeah I saw that blatant stolen parts but hay ho he is a car trader so if it makes him money so be it!

Hamza’s M2 is crazy

I quote "additional hardware, not a simple firmware for a Ghost installed now", he also added "The additional equipment will be backward compatible, so if you get a Ghost fitted now, you can get the upgrade done early next year".....

I will ask about it and see what they say, if I was to pay £400 now and then they want another £100+ to change to the unit to one with hijack mode then it will be a let down IMO, I’d expect it to be free or at least maybe £50 or so just for labour.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for all your kind comments in relation to my customer service and after-sales support, it’s appreciated.

Anyone looking for an installer, feel free to ask me and I’ll help you locate a reputable one if I can. It would be best to do it via private message or email with your vehicle make, model, year and your postcode area.
I personally cover south of Newcastle down to chesterfield and Hull to Warrington so can help anyone in that area, no problem. I do have some good contacts around London and the midlands also so I’ll do my best for those of you around there. I’m also happy to meet halfway to accommodate others.

In relation to the anti hijack feature covered in the video on the bmw, this wont work on your vag group cars. It’s specific to some vehicles and only works on a handful. Example, the M car in the video it obviously works on however another car the same model and year it isn’t forced to work on. It’s purely a vehicle by vehicle basis and can only be confirmed by the engineer at the point of installation.

The only way to get anti hijack on your vag cars is by using the Autowatch Shadow. The shadow is a second device which works in conjunction with the ghost, they talk to each other using the vehicles CAN network. There is no direct link between the two so they are therefore untraceable.
When armed or hijack is activated by the opening of the drivers door on a manual vehicle, the car will stall as soon as the wheels begin to move and on automatics it will stall as soon as a drive gear is engaged.

The Shadow has a number of uses which include the following but not limited to:
* Can sound an internal siren or vehicle horn if the ghost pin is not entered within 15 seconds of the ignition going on.
* Could also send alert via compatible tracking system
* Will immobilise the vehicle if the Ghost is ever unlawfully removed
* Can be used to give the anti hijack feature as seen in the bmw video on vag cars
* Can sound a siren or vehicle horn if too many failed attempts are made at entering the pin
* Allows for gearbox lock on vag cars where currently we can only do engine lock.

The shadow is a separate device and therefore requires quite intricate installation. It can be added onto any existing ghost system or installed at the same time.
There is a little more testing to do before we’re happy to release it but so far bladed key vehicles work well however the keyless PTS (push to start) vehicles need a bit more development. After speaking with Autowatch (Brad Boxhall as mentioned earlier) I’ve agreed to do some trials on my own vehicle over the festive period so hopefully this will be ready for you guys early next year.

Price wise I believe the shadow will be about £299.00 but I’ll confirm this once I know more.

There’s also a couple of other things coming from the Ghost towards the end of January but I’m unable to say at the moment but trust me, you’ll like it!!

I hope the above has helped clarify some of your points and concerns. As I said if I can help find an installer for you or even just give you information on the Ghost or shadow and answer your questions then I will but please be aware I am closed from 19th December through to January 4th for some family time and it may take a while for a reply. Email is probably best - [email protected]

Thanks.

PS: The video of the bmw shows engine lock not gearbox lock. The installers could have done gearbox lock which works as in this video... This is what both the ghost and shadow could achieve along with hijack and the other options I mentioned.

Is it a high voltage laser beam which pin points the thief’s eyes and welds their eyelids to their eye balls?

If not, it should be

I’ve watched the Living Life Fast channel a few times - it’s ok. I do like T R Hamza’s channel a lot and I do watch a fair bit of Joe Achilles. (It was his channel that got me toying with having an M2!) I was watching Shmee quite a bit but he was starting to do my head in - he was a bit like an over excited Jack Russell terrier to be honest!

Joes M2 is very nice, not fond of the colour but what a car.

I just can’t watch Shmee videos they make me cringe, he reminds me of a children’s show presenter 🤢

So I own a 7R and have driven a S3, both felt pretty similar to drive but the Audi steering feeling a bit vague IMO

Has anyone driven the Cupra 300? If so how does the driving feel compared to the S3 & R? I have only seen 2 on the road in person.

I know they are all virtually the same car underneather and just tarted up but would be interesting to hear about the driving feel, I’m sure I can remember reading the seat has sharper handling.

The interior on the seat though 🤢🤢😂 but I suppose you get what you pay for... For me the S3 saloon exterior is king but I prefer the Golf interior layout far more but it’s without question that the Audi is the better quality interior.

      Hi All,

I bought a Golf MK6 R 3 weeks ago and the buttons on the fobs were temperamental. Both worked at the same time when they did work. Both stopped working at the same time when they didn't work.

I took it into VW. They said I had a non-genuine key and a genuine key and could only proceed if they were working with two genuine keys with the same part numbers. Fair play I said. I'm keeping the car long term and don't mind buying a genuine key.

Bought a new key today. Had two original keys coded to the car today and the buttons on both keys still don't work. They simply unlock the car manually and start the car as was always the case.

I've had enough of VW using this case as a tickbox exercise. They're now asking me to pay another £60 for diagnostic from this point onwards.

Now knowing that the aftermarket key was working fine is a bit annoying as it has been a waste of time buying a new key.

Does ANYONE have any idea as to how I should be dealing with this?

FYI - The comfort control module behaves as it should when i turn the ignition on. i.e. Lights come on - doors unlock etc. This makes me think the CCM is just fine but i could be wrong.

What else could it be? A cut wire? the immobiliser box? But the immobiliser disengages when I start the car.

If there any specialists you know that have experience with this matter then by all means, pass on their details. Based in Manchester

      Kind regards,

      Balal😑

Hi guys , im new to the forum.

I have a mk7 golf r and i am currently running a jb4 with a resonator delete, vwr600 intake , silicone hose and turbo inlet elbow from racingline.

I would like to get a downpipe next ,but im not sure as to which would be the best for not throwing any cel lights up.

Do you need a sports cat such as the bcs 200cell cat or can you just purchase a a downpipe without  the cat.

Cheers for any help in advance.

Seeking decent independent VAG specialist garages around Sunbury/Feltham/Staines/Twickenham/Heathrow areas. Car (not my 7R) is out of warranty and I do not trust main dealers and will avoid them at all costs (due to past experiences).

I tried searching the forum for existing threads on recommended indy garages but it returned 0 results. I then moved to Google and found a few in the area, just wondered if anyone had any experiences to share with these? Thanks in advance!

Thread with more information on Westside VW 2017 - 24 Sept 2017, Sunday. It is the show's 10th anniversary this year.

We can use this space to discuss the meet and form plans and perhaps convoys?

I attended last year and it was a pretty chilled event with some nice cars. All marques of VAG are welcome and there is a separate space for other makes which included some rare beasts from BMW, Mercedes etc. Mind you, the cricket ground was full by 1100hrs so it is a good idea to arrive early. Entry is £10 (no advance bookings, pay on gate) and gates open at 0900hrs. For an extra £5 you can also participate in their Show and Shine contest with prizes from sponsors.

Website with more information and videos etc from past shows: http://westsidevw.co.uk/
      Map and Location: http://westsidevw.co.uk/westside-treffen-2015-page/westside-treffen-directions-map/

*I am NOT affiliated with the organisers* - but I do know some other groups that plan on convoying from South London/Surrey side.
