What “ Senslble “ Mods To Do.

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Picking up my R on Saturday and being a complete novice on them I’m  looking for some advice on any mods that are a must.

‘’First on the list is a set of Pretoria’s.

Not fussed about power but may possibly go Stage 1. AMD in Essex are close to me. Anyone had any dealings with them ?

Also is there a go to friendly VW Parts dept ?

‘Cheers 👍

Rob.

What colour and spec are you getting Rob?

Stage 1 will be great fun and is a must though they are a fast car standard. APR high output is rapid ! DSG tune if you have that 👍

Many will say a DTUK pedal box,

I personally like a bigger boot spoiler like Oettinger but there are many nice subtle ones out there that improve the look IMO. Maxton or SRS possibly

Would go Revo wheels over Prets personally,  quite similar tbh but having had both sets  i think the Revo 019 wheels suit the car better and are far easier to clean.

It's a slippery slope once you get started lol!!

Just an FYI, the 19” Pretoria’s are a bit on the fragile side if you live in an area with poor roads.

That’s most of the UK isn’t it 😉

Would like to keep it OEM but if other options are better then ....

Hi mate.

5dr Lapiz Blue, DSG, Dynaudio etc etc ...

Those wheels look good. Similar to Speedlines Corse.

Ive done 12 years with Renault Sports and the last 2 years in an M3. It’s like going back to school again 🤣

I've used them for the first time. Engine and DSG.
Stock 312.7hp 319.2lb ft 13sec 1/4 mile
After 378.3hp 361.4lb ft 11.9sec 1/4 mile
I do have Racingline air intake , turbo inlet and inlet hose.

Loving it!

Wouldn’t know. Live on the other side of the pond.

Many on here switch to 18” wheels. I bent one Pretoria at the hub and due the high replacement cost, sold them and bought a set of Neuspeed RSe10’s. First car I ever bent a wheel.

Well worth a read of the Member's Rides section for some inspiration and ideas.

I've tweaked interior, suspension, brakes and upped the power but kept the exterior mostly OEM.

These engines respond so well to a stage 1 map or JB4 tuning box that it's almost rude not to.
