Does the sound get compromised/effected by storing things in lower boot, where the subwoofer is fitted?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I'll be traveling a long trip and need all the space I can get for storage. I was wondering if I could use the space around the subwoofer for storage or will this effect the sound?

Thanks

I’ve had a fair few bits stuffed in the underfloor boot area around the dynaudio sub and surrounding corners and didn’t note any significant change to the sound.  You can fit a surprising amount in there.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your feedback.

I did stuff a few bits in the backend and didn't experience any difference.

My first long trip with the R was successful. No dents or scratches on the car😇. And I'm glad I have 18" tires, which gave me a comfortable driving experiences and also handled the bumps while speeding on the autobahn. And not to forget all the pothole around the rural area.

The biggest challenge was driving on the narrow road around Como Lake in Italy, as specially with aggressive Italians drivers pressing from behind while the coming traffic pushing me off the side.

The highlight of the trip was driving on the autobahn, around Switzerland & tour to the VW factory at Autostadt in Wolfsburg.

Here are few pictures & video of my trip.

Sounds a fantastic road trip. Lovely to see the R in such amazing scenery. Both are stunning!  Love the Wolfsburg vids too.

I'm off around Europe at the end of July, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and possibly Italy.

Can't wait and those pics are not helping !

Wow. Sounds like a great trip😍 All those place you've mentioned have good roads. My only advise while driving in Germany is try driving in the weekends. Because the trucks are not allowed to drive on Saturday & Sunday. This will give you less traffic on the fast lane😎

I wish you a pleasant journey 😜
