EPV77
@stonefish , would you be able to disclose how you go about finding the equations for custom PID's . Thinking of generating a long list of more values for members on here. Edited December 14, 2020 by EPV77
stonefish
Most of the equations are pretty similar and many don't need converting.: Check out OBD-II PIDs - Wikipedia I use VCDS and a CAN BUS logger to get the command strings used for torque pro. The equations are worked out from the VCDS log values. e.g. Exhaust temperature bank 1, request value is 22 F4 3C reply is 0D 3F which is 3391 and VCDS says 339.1 degrees therefore equation is (A+B)/

EPV77
Some equations are easy, but not all. How did you figure out the oil temperature equation as it's not as obvious , (((A*256)+B)-2731)/

The result is the temperature in tenths of Kelvin, so subtract 273.1 (x10) to convert to tenths of Celsius, and divide the answer by 10 to get Celsius. EPV77
Doing some work on MED17 equipped vehicles, most equations from Simos18 don't work. The main (A*256)+B part of the equation must be different.

I've not got round to testing it yet as a bit busy. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1fjl8cqoj5xryjy/oil-temperature.csv?dl=0 Oops, I left FL in "short name" please ignore or DIY edit. Hello! I have a big request. I used your PID for oil temperature and DSG temperature, but it doesn't work on my car. I have a 2.0 TSI engine (DKZA) and a MIB3. Can you help me? I don't know where to look anymore .... 🥺

I was inspired by you to try this and actually did but have no idea how to read the Can Bus logs I was able to sniff.
SpursMadDave
Found an old Android 13 phone so set up AATorque ahead of my trip to Wales next month, all working perfectly 👌
