Just ordered a new R today

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I’ve been a member for a while now, but didn’t have a Golf. Couldn’t afford the extra money and went with a 370z instead. Finally in a position to buy one and with the apr difference it was actually cheaper to buy new than buy a newish 19 plate car! Still doesn’t make sense!

should be in the new car by 21st October as they had one in stock with most of the extras I wanted. Haven’t had a chance to see the actual car yet but I’ve gone for Grey with black Pretoria’s, dynaudio, and black mirrors. Couldn’t afford the Vienna leather, and that would’ve taken it over the £40,000 mark. Got the 90% tints as a freebie. I absolutely can’t wait, and am desperately trying to sell the Z to help fund it.

Looking forward to making full use of this excellent forum and being an R owner. Already have a few cosmetic mods in mind, and will using the forum to make sure I get the look I want. Love the forum blue, and would like to use that colour on the callipers and maybe some stitching internally. Think it will look great against the black and grey of the rest of the car.

Anyone wanna buy a 370Z? Haha

Cheers

Daren

Hi Darren, welcome and great choice of car and spec.  A considered purchase too, well done.   There’s jus5 so much to like with an R and only little things to niggle.  I’m sure you’ll be pleased and hope you really enjoy driving and modding it to your preference.  The R ownership gig is great, made better by the Forum and it’s members too!

Thanks guys. Yeah I imagine it will look very similar to yours Andy. I will post a few pics once I’ve picked it up. It’s gonna be a long 10/11 days. I’m like a kid on Christmas Eve! It will stay stock for a few months I think, as all my funds have gone on getting the car, service plan, Insurance’s etc. Only thing I’m considering doing straight away is getting it ceramic coated for protection and preservation. Has anyone done this and can recommend it?

Had mine done on delivery day by a local detailer.   Doesn't make the paint immune to some damages  but protects it against the sort of light scratches that I pick up driving on narrow country lanes.  Makes bird poo much easier to remove as well.
