VK17CCN - Golf R Estate

Recommended Posts

Wow, how have you come by this car???  It should have been scrapped two years ago after I totalled it trying to escape the fuzz 👀

Just messing 😄

It's had a fresh MoT (yesterday) with nothing flagged (delayed/extended from original due date due to COVID-19)

Have you got a link to the car?

Ha, had me worried for a second there...

Link to the car: https://usedcars.volkswagen.co.uk/en/used-cars/volkswagen/golf/mk7-facelift-20-tsi-r-4m-310ps-dsg-est-hmcbezp

V. well specced, plus they have also missed off Dynaudio which it has.

I have a budget for a newer car, but it seems silly to spend the extra 8-10k when this one will come with a 2 year Das Welt warrantly, plus 2 years servicing included. I intend to pay off the finance the following day - just need to make sure I can do this.

They have just completed a major service, including brake fluid, haldex oil (filter probably not cleaned!) and aircon service.

Hi gmt1981,

I can vouch for the paying off finance early 👍. I did this on my last two golf's.

Take out the finance to get the free service's etc...

Then phone up and invoke your right to withdraw from the finance the day after you pick up the car then you won't even pay a days interest.

They then give you 30 days to settle the account 😁😁.

And you retain the free service etc you got in the deal.

Hope this helps.

Spec seems really good; I certainly couldn't find anything other than basic (lease) spec cars when I was looking (within 25K budget) and that seems really well priced considering.

Have you viewed it or done things remotely?

Thanks for all the responses.

Everything remotely so far, as Weston is ca. 1h40m from my house. I've had a detailed video sent over which includes the current damage which is to be repaired - they will refurb the wheels and do a smart repair on a scrape between the driver and rear passenger door. I'll be getting another video once the car has been fully prepped.

I also thought it was a good deal considering the spec. I am nervous about buying an older car without the more comprehensive factory warranty, as there is no shortage of people reporting issues with these cars. However, better some form of warranty than without.
