Res delete

Recommended Posts

Any modifications made to your car will invalidate the warranty if it can be proved that the modification caused the failure of covered part. So for example a res delete doesn't affect the water pump so said part will still be covered under warranty.

I bought mine last year and it already had a res delete on it.VW gave me 12 months warranty with the car.Personally I wouldn’t bother with a res delete as it drones like mad.Swapped my exhaust within a month for a Miltek resonated valved system, sounds much better.

So it can used as a get out clause by VW if needed

VW could argue that the removal of the resonator makes the exhaust system more free flowing which could increase power which invalidates the warranty on the whole power train, it is then up to you to prove otherwise (that's how it works in real life, even if in theory it is up to them to prove it contributed to any damage).
